Belichick Will Take The Reigns

Just a couple weeks ago people were griping about the locker room leadership and wondering where the new leaders are coming from. Look closely, the guy who trained Pepper Johnson and Tedi Bruschi is putting himself in a better position to influence the next players to fill the leadership role.

This is a very good point. On top of that, people are worrying way too much over official titles. O'Brien will be the OC, but will not have the title of it.

Title or no, I would like more talent in the offensive play calling. I don't care if you call him Chancellor of the Exchequer, Weis would have been a huge improvement in stature (Brady would listen to him) and ability (goes without saying).

I really don't care if they're all called Moe, we have less coaching talent under our HC than most teams. Add Corwin Brown and let the defensive genius drive the bus this year? I'm fine with that.

Offense? That's it (?) What if we call him OC, is that going to make him and the play calling better?

In my mind, it's kind of pointless to debate the possible consequences of the Pats not naming any coordinators when we have absolutely no idea what practical implications this will have on the coaching staff's day to day operations, assuming it has any effect at all.

One thing I've noticed, though, is that it seems like BB's been less likely to name official coordinators now that the NFL requires teams to make them available to the media...

Maybe some talented mutes.

By the way, our team leaders gradually developed years after we drafted them. Now we expect 2 year players to take over as leaders on the defense. That's a lot to ask.

that's because those 2 year players should be okayers who have been around a bit longer........you know, as in maybe it was time to draft some LB's when all your LB's are over 30 and one of them had a stroke........

find it pretty interesting that most other 3-4 teams managed to find LB's
