Belichick remarks on Mayo's "soft" comments on Pat McAfee Show - "They're not soft"

The new spin from Tom Curran heard on WEEI today
Our WR's are immature but you know who was mature leader ? Jakobi meyers who Bill didnt re sign
Mayo wasnt ready and is learning on the job but you know why ? Because he wasnt expected to take over this soon . BB sucked at 4-13 and hence kraft had to make this move earlier than planned.
This is going to a long rebuild because of all the horrible mistakes overs the years.

Once again Tommy is somehow bringing all this back to BB
Well, yeah, he was deeply involved with the construction and culture of the team for well over 2 decades. You can't just wipe all that out in less than a year or not have major growing pains with the new guy. Maybe Mayo isn't the guy (I'm leaning towards "probably isn't") but he and Wolf were handed a really bad situation...and it is getting worse. We'll see if they can recover. Those guys are likely not going anywhere until next year at least.

What are you talking about? They completely wiped it away in a matter of less than half the season.

You can milk this “blame BB” thing for a few years at least… meanwhile other teams turned it around in one season with clean books and their franchise QB. Laugh at yourself, this is a clown take.

BB didn’t want Juju, he wanted to bring back his homegrown talent and was vetoed by Jonathan and the collaborators. Do your homework…

So do you believe that the Pats were one player away from being good this season?

Who had final say? BB did. If he got talked into it, that's on him.

Three starters and some depth… QB/LT/K. They found the QB/K in free agency and with the first overall pick.

That means they had 7 picks remaining at the top of each round and the most cap space in the entire NFL to find a tackle or two after re-signing all their priority free agents.

Wolf sucked at his job, that’s why we have to watch our QB’s and RB’s get slaughtered every week.

Even with the poor coaching we could at least be competitive and entertained.

With the previous coach this QB would be the one player to get us back into contention. Unfortunately you all and more concerning Kraft lost his mind.
The soft defense who just got run at 18 times in a row and can’t stop good teams for 5 seasons and counting would like a word…

The last good offense that JM/Bb’s defense stopped was the Rams in Super Bowl 53. That’s 5 seasons now and counting. BuT RaNk1NgS or something.

F’n Mac Jones if he wasn’t for him and only him we’d win the Super Bowl last year easy.

I don't even know how to take you seriously with statements like this.

Comparing this years D to the last few is not even close. Yes they showed in games vs better offenses and clutch moments to not be as good as some the great Ds Bill built through the years but this year is just an absolute disaster not even close to BBs worst.

Turns out coaching matters.

The next bad offense Mayo/Covington stop will be the first. You're exposing yourself more and more with every post.

The last good offense that the defense handled was the Rams in Super Bowl 53. If I’m wrong I’m happy to be shown evidence of that. This year is just a continuation.

Point is no we were not one QB away from anything.

Yes it does. Talent matters just a little bit more.

Correct. With Bill we were a QB away. With this new front office screwing everything up and without Bill to coach around it we are way farther away then I think anyone could have imagined but just keep doubling down on your incorrect and outdated takes.

Delusional.

Still seething huh?
I don’t get emotional. Coldly stating fact.
Jonathan looks like a moron now for meddling but hey, it’s his team.
