Belichick remarks on Mayo's "soft" comments on Pat McAfee Show - "They're not soft"

Good point. Kraft started it. Unfortunately Mayo has to pay the price in return.
Maybe Bills new girl has him on Testosterone overdrive … he’s crusin for a brusin!! Letting it all hang out

Are you guys listening to this?]

Belichick talking about how Brady checked out of situations when teams stacked the line to stop the run, and then he said, what's crucial there is that you even through the ball away in some of those situations, and the willingness to go 2nd and 10 instead of 2nd and 13 on a run stuff means everything.

The minutiae that these 2 guys attended to lead to a lot of winning. Not many people are thinking 2nd and 10 is a good outcome in any situation.

There was a play Sunday where Drake was under pressure and scrambled around then just dumped the ball at the RB's feet. To me, that felt like he is way further along than we were lead to believe coming out of college. Those were the types of plays that even in Mac's third year he would compound a busted play into a bad play instead of living to fight another day.

Because you don't like BB and hold a negative opinion of him, you've determined he cannot possibly be genuine/sincere in feeling bad for his former players who were publicly humiliated by their new coach (with arguably the worst criticism a football player can receive, especially publicly)? He cannot possibly feel bad for many of the same players whom he drafted and built relationships with? The same BB who Rhamondre, during a preseason interview, called "one of my favorite coaches ever" (when the question was actually about Judon's departure).

Having such an entrenched, negative opinion of BB and being convinced he's some Machiavellian figure that is incapable of feeling compassion/empathy/positive regard for others, and that he couldn't possibly be sincere in expressing these feeling for his former players, is a really unfortunate perspective to hold.

And I'm not saying BB is not a Machiavellian ******* in some regards - he very much is - but we should know people are not binary; they're complex, multi-faceted, can simultaneously possess and act upon good and bad personality traits.

If BB's worst transgression is being a cunning, demanding, ******* football coach at times, I think I can live with still recognizing the many good/admirable traits he also possesses. We're not talking about JoePa, for instance.
Bill is piling on because he has an axe to grind. That was the basis of his comments, nothing more.

Does he need to zip it?? He works on the other side now. 40 years of saying nothing ever … it’s his turn. I’m glad. So many Pats fans always Crying , he doesn’t say anything !!! Stomp stomp stomp!! What coach ?? Tell us all the dirt going on !!! Being a head coach must completely suck! You must be a masochist to take on that career. Now we k ow why he kept his mouth shut. Cleveland taught him a great lesson. You go Bill .. say it like it is !!
Mayo has taken a number of shots, most recently at the state of the roster, so BB has justification for returning fire. The fact that it works for his current career doesn't hurt. Brady and BB sending the same message is not good for the state of the team.

BB wanted to 5hitcan Corky and bring in Baker Mayfield. Thats a team contending for a post season spot.

The mess right now and of the last few years was caused by Kraft.

Are you implying that Kraft personally told Bill not to pursue Mayfield because… why?

And don’t forget DMac chimed in singing that same chorus

Absolutely correct on your take! The coaching and the scheme.. as go figure the original plan was judon, Barmore, peppers, Bentley, gonzo, Dugger, the Joneses, and tavai.. pretty stout defense when healthy. That was supposed to be the core. Covington said he's kept the same defense in. I still think though it's been hard..thsr we shouldn't give up just yet on Mayo and his staff.. let's allow Drake to continue to grow and be a excellent young QB. It would be inconceivable to think this team wouldn't leaps and bounds better next season.
BB was always great at in-game adjustments. In contrast, I take Covington’s comment to be saying he hasn’t even tried to make an in-season adjustment after the personnel available changed so drastically. No wonder the D is struggling.

Early on covington was overly aggressive and was blitz heavy.. and they were getting burned. So may as well go back to being blitz heavy they are getting burned either way. Furthermore that's the only way to generate pressure.. I couldn't tell you the least time unchecked had a sack or a pressure.. he's the only real edge pass rusher up front.. on offense I hear the Cooper coop is being made available.. start the ascension for Drake this season by trading for him so Drake has a sure fire #1 option. Just my opinion.

We don't know if they are asked to play beyond their talent levels.

Put it this way, if I made a bet with you that in the future, under a different coach, all of the following players would make the Pro Bowl, would you feel 99% confident in winning the bet? or 70% confident?

Keion White, Barmore, Dugger, Gonzalez, Marcus Jones, Onwenu...

Besides Gonzo - maybe - Not One of the Above is making a dam pro bowl this year.
