Can't blame Belichick really. Anything he says tips his hand concerning the draft. I imagine we may hear more...just a tad more after the draft and the FA's are invited to camp.
Team president Jonathan Kraft echoed his father's words, reiterating that Belichick and Pioli have a plan and that ownership stands behind them in the face of fan unrest.
"I don't know that people are jumping ship," Jonathan Kraft said. "Fans are passionate and that's great. We want to win football games and Bill and Scott are doing exactly what they think is right."
As for what that entails, Belichick and Pioli remained mum. Approached yesterday at the owner's meetings, the former bristled at questions regarding the offseason. He also revealed that he planned to leave the meetings last night and skip this morning's annual coaches/media breakfast, which would have subjected him to the prying minds of the national press.
"I don't have anything new to say," Belichick said. "We lose players every year and every year I say the same thing: It's the nature of free agency. That's the way it was when we lost (Joe) Andruzzi and (David) Patten and Ty Law and that's the way it is now. That's the way the game works."
