Belichick calls LT the best player he's ever coached.

I can't say that is a surprise. LT was physically dominant, Brady is certainly not at that level, athletically. Not even in the same universe, athletically. Certainly, as long as Brady is playing, Belichick isn't about to rank him as a player. He still needs to be coached. You know what his going to say. "Tom had a good game, played well, we've got some things to work on as we get ready next week for ________." When Tom retires, Bill will be effusive in his praise, much like he was for Tedy Bruschi. That times 100.

Just for saying that Brady should retire after Sundays win.

brady is still playing and playing for BB. He won't rank him and i think it will be a while before he ever does

If the NFL was drug testing during LT's days he would get the Gordon treatment Banned! eighth time offender.

Is that was BB was saying? That'd make more sense. I didn't see or hear it live so I'm only going on what others are posting.

I'm Sorry, I should have said IMHO (or dumbass) opinion that's what I think

Ummmm....file this in the "No ****, Sherlock" drawer....

I'd have been more surprised if BB had described any active player, even Brady, as "the best I've ever coached." It's just not in his DNA.

But, as a Defensive genius, maybe Belichick really only thinks of himself as "coaching" when it comes to players on that side of the ball. He was comparing another defender to Taylor when he spoke.

I don't think any of us who saw him play would argue that he was the best. I can't think of anyone close. LT was a man among boys. Transcendent.

Take this with a pinch of salt.. means nothing. There was no way BB was going to rank Brady when he's still playing and coaching. The other thing is LT was unreal, i've never seen anyone on the Defensive side of the ball play like he did. He's easily top 5 all time for everyone that's played in the NFL. He was a freak of nature.

LT played for the Maras, therefore he would have been exempt from testing.

Makes sense. The Foxboro high QB can’t do the things LT can.

Belichick never really likes talking up Brady. He and him both have their own egos, and probably get tired of people downplaying themselves in favor of the other.
