BB THE GOAT

Butler sucked in 2017, that’s the only compelling argument you need. And he obviously screwed his teammates over leading up to that Super Bowl somehow. He was crying on the sideline before the game started, bawling his eyes out.
Agree, he sucked so badly that he played 100% of the snaps in the AFCCG 2 weeks earlier
If he got benched and had done nothing wrong, he wouldn’t be crying, he’d be pissed off and fuming. He messed up and knew it, also why he never revealed what happened once he left. Any other disgruntled player would have tweeted how he’d been screwed over and threw his coaches under the bus… he didn’t.
Not really sure how youre projecting this at all

Hes a great coach, his resume is simply proving that he and many other coaches needed a dominant quarterback to elevate their career.

That was point, his argument is ridiculous.
Why didn’t he point out Parcells record without LT? Or Shulas WITH Marino?
Simple. It hurts his narrative.

Checking in on how the argument is going.

Have we made any progress?

Simple. It hurts his narrative.
It doesnt hurt that side of the narrative at all...All it does is magnify how having dominant players elevates a coaches resume...It can be done with Walsh, etc. Nobody cares becuase they arent apart of the Patriots organization...Just think, Andy Reid went from a bumbling idiot who chokes and doesnt know how to manage the clock...To an all time great coach who is building a dynasty, all because of Mahomes

All great coaches has talented players but the inconvenient truth for that argument is BB picked and developed the players he coached. Because of that he's penalized for it and thats ********.

Hes not only the GOAT coach but the GOAT GM.

You claiming that its simply picking and developing the player that created Bradys greatness, would mean that in 10 years without him, hed be able to do it again...Or was the player just special? Not saying his coaching didnt help, but at some point, coaching stops elevating a player. Andy Reid couldnt find another Mahomes if he tried...He can coach up other players to the best of his ability, which hes done....Success has come with Mahomes not Alex Smith or McNabb

Then admit he is the GOAT. Putting him in equal footing with Shula, Gibbs and forchissakes Parcells is insulting.
Gibbs pre-comeback was an all-time great. I'd love to see what he would have done with a HoF QB. Bill is #1, but Gibbs for sure has a seat at the table.

Parcells was a mercenary.

No. You said that. I said he picked and developed the players which includes Tom. Signed FAs too. He added talent to support a gifted QB.

No question Brady was a generational player....but BB absolutely gets credit for seeing the diamond in the rough and developing him.

And it's not just developing him. It's adding talent. Implementing an offensive system which allowed him the thrive, etc.

I get - and agree with - the statement Brady helped elevate BB's stature as GOAT but the same hold true for BB raising Tom's stature as CLE could have drafted him and not Spergon Wynn. That would have been bad for Tom's career on multiple levels.

Andy Reid was never a "bumbling idiot." He compiled a 130-93-1 record with the Eagles and went to 4 straight NFCCGs and a SB with McNabb at QB. Then he went 53-27 without Mahomes in KC. If he's a bumbling idiot, what does that make Bill whose record is far worse without Brady?

This is a very triggering post around here.

I was wondering if anyone had the W/L record overall as HC, with Brady and w/o Brady.

Hes not only the GOAT coach but the GOAT GM.
Exactly. Players aren’t drafted as anything near finished products. Coaching contribute a lot to those great players becoming great.

This resulted in how many Super bowl wins without Mahomes, in how many more seasons?

I think you can ansewr your last question

Very true, and hes done that for 10 years...just without the gifted qb
No question Brady was a generational player....but BB absolutely gets credit for seeing the diamond in the rough and developing him.

Again, things hes been doing for 10 years without Brady...Unless he no longer gets the credit for managing the roster in those years?

This is something that you simply cant prove.

So now a coach is a "bumbling idiot" if he doesn't win a SB?

I was wondering if anyone had the W/L record overall as HC, with Brady and w/o Brady.
without Brady is 80-90, with is much much better

It tells a lot that the point you are arguing is the adjectives describing a coach and no the actual point of the post.

Exactly. Players aren’t drafted as anything near finished products. Coaching contribute a lot to those great players becoming great.
Why hasnt he turned anybody else into a player near the caliber of Brady? Hes had 10 years to try...Surely Mac will make the jump soon! Just keep developing!

Why didn’t he point out Parcells record without LT?
I did. It's pretty good. You said it wasn't. Parcells is undoubtedly among the GOAT HC/GM's of all time.

Or Shulas WITH Marino?
Don Shula

His resumé is also undeniable. All-time leader in wins, both regular season and combined. He's 4th all-time in losses but he has at least 78 more wins than the 3 head coaches with more losses. Of course he's got the only undefeated season in the history of the league. And the back-to-back Super Bowl championships. My big knock on Shula is he never won a Super Bowl with Dan Marino who was an absolute phenom of his era.
You don't follow a conversation very well.
