When asked at this morning's press conference, BB said flatly he would not be activating PPass off the PUP this week. So then, who is the last spot for?

Trade for a new player? Perhaps, although BB said they weren't actively pursuing anything at the moment.

Anybody heard anything that's credible?

Troy Vincent would make the most sense.

Relief that they're not trading for Moss or Porter.

The only personnel decision I've cringed at so far is trading a 3rd for what's his name.

That made no sense and didn't work.

Other than that they never waste picks on trades.

According to Reis, Belichick actually said :

“I wouldn’t say we’re actively trying to do anything,â€

Wording is everything with Belichick. I hate to nitpick but him saying that he wouldn't say they aren't actively persuing anthing is very different from him saying that aren't actively persuing anything.

I agree Vincent makes the most sense, especially with his former team up next for Pats.

Not activating Pass may mean that the staff is not overly concerned about Dillion's shoulder.

Or that they don't think he's going to be fit enough to play for a while yet.

brian kelly is also supposedly being made available by the Bucs - i'd love to see him here.

It's pretty tough to activate Pass this week when the earliest he can be activated is next Monday. ("After a club's 6th regular season game")

Forget about Vincent. There's another thread (which I haven't yet read) indicating that Washington has picked him up. But as an officer for the Player's Association, this guy would be trouble in the locker room. All our 2007 free agents would have to be extended before we let a guy like that in.

Right ... and he might think to be "actively trying to do something" means
to be in some sort of negotiation. PATs may very well be throwing out feelers
and trying get some sort of response or have let certain teams know they
are interested.
