Bad thing about Childress

I don't understand why everyone is upset that we signed the returner we've needed since the offseason started. Perhaps more important is how little bb apparently respects the potential of Childress. Posters have much higher views of this practice squad player.

bb has concluded that Smith is a better returner than Smith, and that Caldwell, Jackson, Brown and Gabriel are better receivers. I happen to agree and never thought Childress was doing anything but warming the bench until we signed a returner or receiver with more skills.

Andrews still wearing the red shirt makes this signing more important, but I think it would have happened anyway. I don't want Maroney and Faulk as our returners.

Yes, Jonathan Smith was a "Buffalo Reject" who happened to be a better punt returner and kick returner than anything we have on our team. The guy averaged 13.2 yards per punt return and 25.3 yards per kick return. Granted, some of that comes from the blocking, but on punt returns, a lot is the player.
