Atlanta's Defense

Atlanta defense wasn't all rookies as we see on closeup .
Bernie had good form . If this offends anyone I will delete it

Well the atlanta fans were right about one thing. They only give up most of their points in the 4th quarter! And im thankful of that!

So I think we can some it up this way.
In this game Atlanta's defense played worse than any defense in the NFL did on average, pretty much across the board, points, points and yards per drive, yards, first downs, failing when it mattered most.
They allowed HISTORICALLY poor amounts of yards and first downs.
They had a big lead with 5 drives to go and proceeded to allow 4 TDs and a FG.

BUT, we didn't score a TD on every play, so they played really good defense.

What do you numbers look like if you only look at the first 3 quarters? For both Atlanta and NE? Not being smart, really want to know.

I look at it this way, in the first half, the Pats had 6 drives, they punted the ball 3 times, fumbled once (followed by a 71 yard Atlanta drive), threw an interception (after a 52 yard drive) and had a FG. Atlanta had only 4 real drives and Punted twice and had 2 touchdowns.

In the second half, the Pats had 5 drives, they punted once, had 3 touchdowns, and a FG. The Falcons had 6 drives, scored 1 touchdown, punted 3 times and had a fumble.

Say what you want, but in the first half, the Pats only had a single FG. You can argue the Falcons D was responsible or the Pat O was responsible. Like most things, it probably was both.

But what difference does cherry picking things out of a game make?
The game is 60 plus maybe overtime.

Does it really matter if the epic offensive production was spread out or compacted?

Yes, it does. People are stating that the Atlanta D played well, ran out of gas and the Pats took control. You are giving the impression they sucked the whole game. The numbers could indicate what is true.

I am saying they sucked in that game. Like every defense in every game there was some good and some bad.
Whe you add both together that defense was EPICALLY BAD.
