It's true that it's hard to blame Asante too much for following the money, but am I the only one who thinks that he could have cared less last year that he was a Patriot? IMO all he was playing for was a new contract in '07.

And I'm probably crazy, but I still can't quite comprehend how he dropped the INT last year that would have cemented the SB and the Pats going down as the greatest team of all time.

Best of luck to him, but I still can't help feeling a small pang of negativity towards any FA who leaves New England after being made a good faith (and multi-million $$) offer.

I would say I was glad to see him leave, but he fit our system very well, and quite frankly I don't believe we've replaced his production. We'll just have to wait and see how Fernando Bryant and Terrence Wheatley do.
