Asante Samuel has a Belichick Complex

One of the Pats best signings in the BB era. In my opinion, Poole had a "pro bowl" year. Despite his poor play in the super bowl, he broke up almost everything that came his way in the regular season.

Poole and Law were an awesome tandem in 2003.

I agree. Law was fantastic, but Poole was really under-rated, especially since QBs were forced to throw to his side so much.

As for Asante, he got paid, he suckered some team into a massive contract they're regretting, and the Pats didn't kill their cap on a cancerous CB who cares more about picks and dollars than wins.

As far as I'm concerned, the Pats and Asante both "won," so Asante, let it go.

They have Edelman and Tate.....Edelman will be a good slot receiver in the future and Tate might be a good #2 receiver, but neither one has the potential to be a Randy Moss type stud. In today's pass happy NFL, having an elite, go to receiver is almost a necessity. Also, having a guy like Green would complete the young group of WRs/TEs perfectly. Between Green/Tate/Edelman/Gronk/Hernandez, we'd have a great group of weapons set up for whoever is here beyond Brady.

Respect to you UofA, as I am not trying to be confrontational. However, I do disagree. We have an aging stable of running backs, where the youngest is in a contract year and, to be quite honest, I don't think many of us expect Maroney to be around after the end of the upcoming season. Fred Taylor and Sammy Morris aren't oft-injured, and Kevin Faulk only signed a one-year deal to stay. They're all approaching the end of the line sooner rather than later. The league may be "pass happy," but a steady running game is still necessary. Heck, many were speculating that the Pats might pick up a running back in the draft a few months ago.

We don't know what Tate is at the moment, so saying he's only viable as a #2 isn't a fact but an opinion that has no basis yet. We don't know what Taylor Price is either. We'll see as the season progresses. Add to that the new TE's. If they emerge as pass catching threats, that would further negate the immediate need for a receiver, especially high in the draft.

Again, it's hard for me to fathom the Patriots going WR before RB should they decide to go offense with a pick. I do get what you're saying, but I just think RB might end up being a more pressing issue between the two positions in the upcoming drafts.

It wasn't David Tyree. It wasn't Manning Lite. It wasn't even the mind numbing call on 4th and 13. It wasn't the holding on Randy Moss on the last Pats series.

No. It wasn't any of them. The biggest SINGLE REASON why the freaking New York Giants won Super Bowl 42 was that Asante Samuel failed to catch a certain interception that was thrown directly at him.

As a result, I have zero interest in anything this man has to say. Catch the damn ball!

Asante Samuel is in the same category as Grady Little and Ben Dreith: Jerkfaces whose actions directly cost his team -- my team -- certain glory.

Go far away, Asante.

That entire sequence of plays by the NY Giants offense in the last two minutes of the Super Bowl was the work of a greater power that set out to humiliate Bill Belichick for Videogate. Asante Samuel was just a pawn in a giant cosmic chess game designed to exact revenge on each and every one of us. Three years later, Asante Samuel is bitter that he was placed on this planet at this time and place to drop a sure thing reception and let a guy no longer in football make the most amazing catch ever made on the top of a Riddell helmet. We join him in his bitterness and wonder at the futility of life.

Long ago I liked McNabb. Time, his subsequent performance and TFB cured me of that insanity.
