Article: Moss Viking stories leaking out...

NFL teams don't cut guys and throw away 3rd round picks because he doesn't like the caterer. This is a hit piece plain and simple, and a transparent one at that. Some reporter owed Chilly a favor and he's doing damage control and trying to save his job by ****ting on Moss. Ugly.

PS, I have not been a huge supporter of Moss's me first mentality in the past, but I support him on this one. Minnesota is a clusterf*ck.

This makes no sense. BTW, he does own a racing team

If it was bad food, it's bad food. Bad food can happen in any style.

However, the story reads as if the food is beneath him. He has money now?

Moss is from WV and from what I have read is generous with the area he grew up. Couple that with racing and it seems suspicious that Moss is rejecting food based on some cultural concept that he is above it.

Moss the elitist seems suspiscious.

Moss not liking the food because Birk liked it does make sense.

Before I go and condemn Mr. Moss for his behavior I must say that there's nothing worse than bad BBQ...

Oh, I know. My frequent trips to Texas have ruined me for life!

I don't know if I believe any of this . . . just seems like a made up story to me.

I dunno about this hear say stuff... maybe its true but no one knows no point judgeing him for it if we dont know it even happened. secondly you have no context maybe he was joking maybe thats his sense of humour or maybe he was jsut being a ****... i justtink it;s very convienient all this booo moss stuff is coming out when you didnt hear one story when he was here

I just heard on ESPN that Moss hates kittens and apple pie and likes to push little old grandmothers in front of oncoming traffic.

The Vikings HAD to release him.

The more I read through that article the more suspect it becomes. It is false. They don't name a single source. Its always a nameless player or "witness".

Timing + no real source?

My BS meter is going off on this one.

I just heard on ESPN that Moss hates kittens and apple pie and likes to push little old grandmothers in front of oncoming traffic.

The Vikings HAD to release him.

Pretty much sums it up.

If this is true, then what a SCUMBAG move by Moss. On top of that, the piss poor effort of jumping to try to make the game winning catch was one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen from him. It's very possible that Moss is having a complete emotional breakdown right now. He's always been pretty volatile but he seems worse than ever right now, to be honest.

Lies.

Only parking maids. If the parking maid happens to be a grandmother it is what it is. But he targets parking maid, not grandmothers.

Well said. Brady's response (the deep sigh followed by no comment) is likely a reflection of his deep concern for the friend going forward IMO. I think teamates for the most part admire the talent and under normal circumstances enjoy the personality. That said, those in denial here (and even among his past teamates) about the cumulative draining effect of the bad/emotional Randy episodes over time are just wishful thinkers. There were certainly those on this team who to varying degrees had kinda had it with the balancing act tradeoff position Randy increasingly put them in. And apparently not all Vikings were overjoyed in the wake of his arrival. Winning 18 in a row buys you lots of good will he wasn't going to benefit from in Eden Prairie.

This piece from one of the Vikings beat guys seems to substantiate Silver's account.

It's all about ego on both sides of the equation. It will be interesting to see who the next fool is who thinks he has the cache to handle Randall... Reportedly Shannihan is considering entering the fray (LOL) as is Fisher following the loss of Britt... Houston might also be a contender given Kubiak seems intent on throwing the ball.

Childress gets his way, but will there be a price? | StarTribune.com

Interesting read and puts the food story within a bigger picture. I agree, our players and our coaches made a huge and perhaps eventually, draining, effort to keep him level. Childress let him remain in NE after his last game here, Moss had apparently asked for that. Then his presser...strange stuff.

I was thinkg that also, he was probably busting Birk's balls just like he told Brady he looked like a girl, probably happened but in a different context than how its reported

Where on earth does this stuff come from? What evidence at all is there that any Patriots player or coach made any abnormal or special effort to "keep him level". Moss' interactions with the media will forever be "strange", but people just go crazy with this stuff. I mean Mo is now even accusing Moss' past teammates of being in denial lol.

What I find most interesting about this article is the fact that it points out that Childress has issues with Wilf, Favre, and Moss (not to mention a past issue with wide receiver Marcus Robinson). It doesn't mention the presser Harvin did where he disagreed with Childress' decision making as well.

So far Moss has a problem with Childress and possibly a caterer (although no one is willing to sign their name to that allegation).

You have a poll on that very same site where over 80% of voters want Childress terminated immediately and another 12% want him gone at the end of the season.

Perhaps there are major issues there with Moss, perhaps not. If he is a problem, perhaps he isn't being managed well or perhaps some level of due diligence failed to occur prior to the trade. I can't imagine the fact that the guy was high maintenance could have been any kind of shock to the Vikings team he used to play for.

But one thing is crystal clear: Childress is a cancer to that organization. If they don't fire him, they get what they deserve.

Excellent, didn't take long for our resident psychologist to come in and throw for free his stunning analysis of "Randall" and Brady's sigh, did it?

Wish you get back to posting your awesome football analysis and stop this constant nitpicking of ex-Pats players you don't like under threads with stories that may or may not be true.

As an experienced and reputed member of this board, you can add much value and knowledge on the game and what's going on in the field, both with the Pats and other teams. Hope you reconsider.

Perhaps one day the light bulb will go on and some of you will come to apprecaite there is way more to playing football at a championship level than mere talent or x's and o's prowess. Particularly on a team that runs a specific system and schemes predicated on accountability and unselfish devotion to team first principles. That's why they were so fortunate to land a kid like Brady whose intangibles were beyond a prototypical match for the not just the schemes but the system and top to bottom organizational philosophy.

Where's the "evidence" that they didn't? YOu don't know, I don't know, nobody knows and frankly it's no longer our problem. The team's obviously done ok since he left and they've moved on. We should do the same.

Looks like some (alleged) details about Moss's stint with the Vikings are starting to come out...

"As is the team’s custom on Fridays, a local food establishment was invited to the training facility to serve a catered, post-practice meal in the locker room. In this case, a St. Paul restaurant that is a favorite of former Vikings center Matt Birk(notes). As the proprietors helped serve chicken, ribs, pasta and other dishes to Vikings players, Moss paced up and down the serving line and loudly expressed his displeasure with the offerings.

According to one player who witnessed the scene, Moss yelled, “What the [expletive]? Who ordered this crap? I wouldn’t feed this to my dog!”

Said the witness: “It was brutal. The truth is, he deserved to be cut after that. It was such an uncomfortable moment. You know that feeling where you just can tell someone feels so small? That’s what it was like being there.

“This wasn’t a chain – it was a mom-and-pop restaurant, and you could tell it was their best stuff. They had a special carving station set up, and there were players and other support staff lining up to eat it. And [Moss] is at his locker saying, ‘You know, I used to have to eat that crap – but now I’ve got money.’ You just felt so sad for them. I had never seen anyone treated like that."

Boorish behavior also contributed to Moss' demise - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Shades of Rodney Dangerfield!

YouTube - dog FOOD i'll show him dog food

"He doll... tell the cook this is low grade dog food. I'll tell you, this meat still has marks from where the jockey was hitting it."

lol are you being serious?

Silver is doing it to you guys again. I wonder if the same people buying this garbage wholesale are the same people who insisted he was right about the "disconnect" between Brady and the Patriots.

Where's the "evidence" that they didn't?

Asking someone to prove a negative? If someone makes the accusation, the burden of proof lies with the accuser.

Reading this brings to mind a host of bad cliche's...."you are what you eat"!
BTW, remind me not to invite Randy to our annual Festivus holiday party. A group of us at work are planning it and the preliminary menu is
Fishsticks
Spam
Russian Roulette Meat Balls
