Article: Moss Viking stories leaking out...

This.

Randy is capable of boorish behavior (see the Kraft sponsors event and RMs behavior highlighted in the Gasper piece) but the antics articulated in the piece are over the line. He may have made an off-handed remark about the ribs but pacing down the isle and criticizing the food is something out of the movie "Patton".
I assume you have never met Moss, so I wonder how you can comment on how likely his behavior that is being reported is.

I just sat through the 12 episode, all in once-monthly installments, of The Charlie Rose Brain Series. He had the best scientists & psychologists explaining the behavioral brain. They educate so much about neurology and environment.

I've had that on my to do list for a while. Have only seen glimpses of it. Thanks for reminding me.

Are you stating that his behavior at the Kraft Sponsors Event never happened? That is the definition of boorish behavior. C'mon.

Why are you calling me out when there are 100s of other posters essentially saying that same thing?

This piece from one of the Vikings beat guys seems to substantiate Silver's account.
The trouble with the media is after one guy says something, everyone else reports on it without saying they are only rehashing. I remember that after Silver's report about the Brady-Kraft disconnect, it was widely reported everywhere. I'm sure it is still believed in many places the same as the Pats videotaping the Rams walk-through is still believed in many non-New England places.

Moss made me uncomfortable with his press conferences. I think we are a better team without him, and I believe it was a good trade to get rid of him. But all this sudden media stuff makes me more uncomfortable. I don't trust it. Not at all.

Unfortunately, there is enough similar behavior from Moss in the past that we can't fully dismiss this.

We also don't know what causes Moss' outbursts; people are wired differently. Some people have neurological wiring that makes it virtually impossible for them to suppress negative emotion when under the slightest stress. It's like insisting that everyone walk up stairs - some people are in wheelchairs and just don't have use of their legs.

All of Moss's issues over the years could be essentially a medical problem, not a character or effort problem. We just can't know from this distance.

The other players may sense this - that he is doing his best and has challenges greater than theirs, and that's why they rally around him, like Brady does.

Excellent post. It's possible, perhaps likely, that Moss needs a good therapist or even medication. He's avoided it all these years because he's still been able to rake in millions.

Andy - Not only did Steve Burton comment on this, but several other people who were at the Sponsors Kick-off Dinner. Are you calling all of them liars? Were you there? Do you have proof otherwise?

You seem to also forget that the Pats got a notice from the league that Randy's antics during the National Anthem of the Cincy game where he turned his back and started yelling out, "We're going to war guys" and other such things..

I don't know what is going on with Randy. I can't say whether he has mental issues or other issues, nor am I willing to speculate. What I know is that there was 1 incident of "erratic behavior" (the Miami Post-game Presser) that was public and several others that were released after he was traded. And then there was the Post Pats game presser. I've never seen a player throw a coaching stuff under the bus the way Randy did.

Anyways, we're going to have to wait and see how this all plays out.

I am sure this happened. Also, I am sure Tom Brady and Randy Moss came to blows over Tom's haircut.

It's funny to see the Moss haters always quick to swallow everything they hear negatively about him and dismiss or explain away anything positive. They don't even question crazy "reports" like fighting over hair lol

Before I go and condemn Mr. Moss for his behavior I must say that there's nothing worse than bad BBQ...

Maybe they served Kansas City style BBQ and Moss is used to Carolina style. People down south take their BBQ seriously.

Call me a cynic, but that "leaked" story sounds like one of those fabrica-exaggerations my niece is famous for....

No, some of us questioned the hair report. I wanted it to be true because it's hilarious but I knew it wasn't.

I don't think this exact account is the truth either, but do I believe something happened? Both here and there? Hell yes.

YOU are the one spouting the ridiculous notion that Moss is perfectly behaved and hardworking despite being moved off 2 teams in 25 days. That has to be some kind of record.

I don't know what kind of mancrush you have on Moss, but you are not exactly the bastion of rationality either.

I'm just a little worried about the guy. He does seem to be completely losing it mentally and emotionally. That press conference with us and the one last week (and stories such as this one) are products of an unwell mind.

I just hope this story doesn't end up with Moss doing something that he can't take back.

Well it's pretty clear that there was NO beef between Moss and Brady. BTW I don't label you as a "Moss hater".

I never once said Moss is "perfectly behaved". It's a fact that he is hardworking though, that's not really debatable. Moss' behavior did not get him shipped out of here unless by behavior you mean him supposedly asking to be traded. And to use an idiotic organization like the Vikes and Childress to prove that Moss is the problem is crazy IMO. BB got a, probably high, 3rd round pick for Moss.

I don't have any irrational thoughts on the matter. I use all the facts and understand that vague media reports are not cold-hard-facts. Some of you continue to ignore that through decades of play, everyone that has gotten to know Moss likes him. For a guy that is such an emotional wreck and so selfish, he would simply NOT be able to make so many friends. The media will NEVER get to know Moss.

The fact that this article comes out after the fact and not before does make it seem a bit like a smear campaign. Stories that "leak out" after a major event usually are planted at least to some degree. I think it really is hard to know what actually went on here. Still, we are well aware of Moss being difficult to handle and I'm sure there was some of that. We are also well aware of Chilly and his ability to handle situations. I am quite sure this was an issue on both sides which add up to "irreconcilable differences".

I am certainly glad you don't think of me as a Moss hater, because I am not. I also agree that the media is not to be trusted.

The Vikes are indeed morons, but mostly for doing the trade in the first place. They acted like they had no idea what might go wrong.

As for Moss' behavior here, I'm not sure what happened but something did. Did he ask to be traded? I honestly don't know. But he was starting to becme a distraction, I don't see how anyone could feel differently. I personally enjoyed seeing him giving NE props during his second rambling press conference of the year because I agree with it, but just a few short weeks ago, we were the targets of a similar press conference.

Randy seems really likeable. But professionally, he seems to get kind of emotional about things. It's a problem.

I guess it would have been more appropriate for him to text the caterers pictures of his "junk". That behavior seems to be a bit more accepted by the Vikings organization.

He certainly has the most peculiar way of interacting with the media.

All Favre...All the time. I mean the gunslinger was operating with broken bones and a boner ta boot. No room on the media pages for the other 44 players

The most exaggerated story of all-time.

I couldn't have said that better myself! I mean whats appropriate and not appropriate remains to be seen in todays world.
