So what he really got is a 3 year $16M deal plus some very makeable incentives and some superstar incentives plus salary he can earn over a 7 year period. And they can cut him loose in 2009 for a dead cap hit of just about $1M per year for two years. So unless he's very, very good he won't ever see year 7, and if he is very very good he'll probably be miserable because he wants more up front money. Then factor in the $4M he re-paid Snyder to buy his way out of DC and....
Depending on just how makeable and lucrative that first tier of incentives is the Giants and the Poston's and the NFLPA could have an unhappy camper again in no time - just as soon as Lavar realizes it's not a 7 year $49M deal at all.
As for how this bodes for Ty, he'll be lucky to get half what he's asking on a 3 year deal as well. Might as well be here because that's just a few bucks more than Duane Starks money. And if BB can revisit and salvage his personal relationships there should be little doubt he can do likewise in his business relationships if he believes that will better his team. His lack of ego driven jilted fan mentality is part of what seperates him from the rest of us mere mortals.
