You could well be right with your initial take, even though I'm disagreeing at the moment. We're all just guessing/analyzing here, and the AFCS is throwing the Titans and Jaguars at the Colts, which should be 4 phone-in wins right there. I think that defense will make more of those games competitive, but that's really more a product of the Colts stupidity in the offseason than it is of their schedule.

I initially looked at a few Strength of Schedule charts which has Indy as having one of the weakest in the NFL. But these charts are usually last years opposing team record vs Colts last year record etc.. at least in the beginning of the season and then upgrades during the season.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/165472/2015-nfl-strength-of-schedule

But your point is valid. Any team that can run the ball for example has a good chance of keeping luck on the sideline and controlling the clock. And teams may have improved from last year.

I think I've change my position from rooting for a Meteor to rooting for the Colts. haha

Get the Division first then worry about the playoff seeding.

Definitely want the colts to win. The only important thing in the first 16 games is winning the division. And a Jets loss only helps us.

I'll worry about the Colts when they play them in the regular season, and/if they play them in the the post season.

Now if it was possible for both teams to lose, I'd take that option, but as far as I know that isn't possible.

Colts. They are going to win their division no matter what. Have you seen Jax, Tenn and Houston? Yikes.

Agreed. As much as I loathe the Colts, I can't in good conscience root for a division opponent to win. Also, if the Colts get some wins, it will be so much more satisfying to us and demoralizing to their fan base when we ritualistically maul them at our game.

That's why there is an argument for the Colts to lose. So that they have a tougher time getting a 1 or 2 seed in the playoffs.

But that aside, I now agree with the "take care of the division first" mentality. We can't predict how the season will unfold so best is getting a game up on the Jets and then worry about the rest later.

I think one of the #1 or #2 seeds will be coming from the AFC North.

I'm rooting for a mysterious illness which forces the authorities to immediately quarantine both teams and a large number of their fans in the stadium till early January. Then it mysteriously clears up and everyone can go home. Especially the Jets and Colts seeing as they both had to forfeit the remainder of their 2015 scheduled games.

Hey, a guy can dream.

Not "rooting for" but would prefer the Colts over the Jets.

Just occurred to me, does the Colts involvement in Defamegate take away from Adam Vinatieri's Patriot legacy?

Would rather the Colts win, since I am in the take care of the division first camp. But not going to sit there and actively root for them, lol.

I would prefer a Jest loss simply because they are in our division. It is one of those games where despite the outcome, it will be bitter sweet.

Best case, aside from a tie, Jets lose, giving the Pats sole possession of first place...with both the Colts and Jets looking terrible in the process.

As much as it pains me, I think I have to root for the jets to win. After the deflategate crap, I want to watch indy get their ass pounded on a weekly basis. No lube, no prescription pills to dull the pain. A couple Andrew Luck "punts" and the jets go for 300 on the ground. **** the Colts, jim irsay, grigson and media golden child Andrew Luck. I want to see the animated corpse of Frank Gore tote the rock 10 times for -5 yards and a fumble. The more embarrassing the ass pounding the better.

Sure, the logical choice is to root against the divisional rival, but the jest gonna jest, and the implosion will commence sometime around week 6 when Ge-No(talent) heals up from his boxing match and divides the locker room that is off to a decent start.

I hope the referees win.

I don't want either team to win, but I want the Geldings to lose every week. Jets will implode on their own.

I want to wake up tomorrow with sole possession of first place...be it a tie or a Jets loss. It's as simple as that, despite despising both teams involved in tonight's game.

Right now the Steelers, Bengals (same ole story??) and Denver look like they have a shot but we know how quickly things change in a season.

Jets may have the only defense in the NFL that can contain our offense: they have the only CB in the NFL that could stop Edelman 1 v 1.

Nevertheless, the Colts hatred is too deep. I want the Colts 0-2.

Aside from the obvious double L, I want the jets to lose. Clinch the division first. As much as I want the other 31 teams humiliated, the Pats win in SB50 is all the retribution I need. For now.

Let the dolts think they have a chance before we meet. As we just experienced with buffalo, it makes he win that much more enjoyable. And the shockwaves sent out to people like Marshall Frau... I mean... Faulk will be very.

Satisfying.

I used to just answer questions like this by saying, "The asteroid." Now I'm rooting for whoever is playing against the Colts. edit: excuse me, I meant the Indiana-no-place Whiners.

Officially, I want the Jets to lose, but secretly I want both teams to get mashed and smashed all over the field and for this epic battle to end in a 0-0 tie.

This is like picking sides in the Iran-Iraq war. As Henry Kissinger said, its too bad they both can't lose.
