I think they’ll probably just trade for Kupp and otherwise really target the trenches. Metcalf would be better though if they can swing it.
There's no rule that says you can't acquire an OL and WR in the same offseason. In fact with their abundance of cap space the Patriots are in a unique position where they can afford to offer premium money to both a LT AND a WR this year.Build out the OL first. We have been obsessed with the WR position since Terry Glenn departed, but the Pats need to focus on the basics first. The WR is the cherry on top.
I look at it this way. If Randy Moss can't save a bad Raiders team, Metcalf isn't going to be the savior for the Pats.
Don't really want Kupp. He was great in his prime but he's missed anywhere from 1/3rd to 1/2 the season the last three years and he going to be 32 in 3 months.I wonder if kupp is still on the market, rams prob didnt expect to have have stafford back. And was unloading contracts
You don't think a Perennial 1000yds WR who just turned 27 is worth a Second Rounder??As with all these trades, the key question is the price. Would I like Metcalf? Sure. But I’m not giving up either of our top 2 picks.
I like DK and I'd say offer the 3rd and a pick next season. I'd also like the team to be in on Olave as well.
Yeah I remember you mentioned this before.. I'm thinking the team may go after kupp? With a functional OL I'd expect us to have An actual offense this season.Olave has serious concussion issues, they shouldn’t go anywhere near him. He’s already had 5 concussions.
The whole millionaires tax is overblown here twin.. i don't see much millionaires moving from here... what tough lifestyle they have huh..DK Metcalf doesn't like Taxachusetts: it sure looks like we are going to have to Draft and Develop our own WR's. Hope Vrabel have Better luck than BB.
With each passing day it's starting to feel like kupp is the direction we are headed.. everything you said is spot on about kupp.. guy is a technician route runner.. I'd also make a run at adams on a 2 year deal as well. The key is getting a guy in the draft and developing him so he can grow with Drake..Personally?
I'd take Kupp on a 2 year deal, he's as smart as an OC, and would help the young guys that are struggling, as well as new guys.
We have the $, he won't be 30M, be 90% as good, and better in some areas because of who he is.
He can still play better than anyone else we could possibly bring in under 30M.
Unfortunately, for the 2nd year in a row, Cap JUMPED, so teams have been able to keep expensive OL that we wanted.
IT'S going to continue to happen,so we either score in the Draft, or we overpay by a fair amount to get someone.
Campbell/Banks/Simmons are looking better by the day..
I'm certain I am dumb missing a lot of other guys....
Absolutely correct. Is why I've said throw the bag at Alaric Jackson.. he's 26.. Stanley is older.. Ideally you want players that can grown with Drake. What we need at LT is solid play.. we need a Matt light type of LT.Yep. Unless they can fix the OL in free agency I don’t see much choice but to go OT in the first round. There are a variety of ways they can do that, take Campbell at #4, trade back slightly and take Campbell, Simmons, or Banks, or go BPA at #4, then trade up to get Conerly. Ultimately they have to get that fixed because they can’t allow Maye to get pounded on the way he was last year. Hopefully it’s a mix of free agency and the draft.
I thought I heard somewhere that Jackson is likely staying in LA.Absolutely correct. Is why I've said throw the bag at Alaric Jackson.. he's 26.. Stanley is older.. Ideally you want players that can grown with Drake. What we need at LT is solid play.. we need a Matt light type of LT.
