Just finished reading Jason Cole's piece on yahoo sports, and I have to admit, I'm nervous.

Not about what the Broncos can, or cannot do. Or really as a matter of what any of our possible opponents can do. More so what the Pats could do to themselves. That article put a HUGE focus on how intense everyone is, and it really seems to me they are putting TOO much on themselves to produce.

I think this is where the inability to produce in the opening quarters come from. It seems once everyone loosens up and relaxes, the points flow like water.
I can honestly see them coming out SO tight, they just bury themselves. Perhaps not this week, but at some point. I don't think anyone remaining in the AFC will "beat" the Pats...the only way they lose is through self infliction.

    Thoughts?

Nope. Pats are going to roll. 41-20. Their talent and coaching is superior.

In regards to tomorrow? Nope, not nervous at all. If the Pats can't beat a 9-8 Tebow led Broncos squad, they have no business seeing the Ravens or Texans, let alone the NFC rep in the SB.

I will be nervous for the AFCC though.

I'll be nervous at kickoff (does any other loser fan get butterflies like me?). But, at this point, we just have to trust that the Pats have put together a good game plan and are going to come out and execute it well. Contrary to the Jason Cole piece, local reporters said yesterday that Belichick and the players were relaxed and upbeat after practice, which hopefully means that they are confident in a win, and will show it on the field from the get-go.

    Go Pats!!

more excited than nervous... there is no way we lose this game.... none... if we do, boy there will be more questions than awnsers for Belichick and BRady.... but we wont worry about awnsering that... not untill we play the ravens next week....

Oh ok...well that has me breathing a sigh of relief.

Watching the interviews this week, then reading that Cole piece, I was getting worried.

Like I said before, I'm not too worried about our opponents from here on out. If the Pats play sound Patriot football, we're in the Super Bowl.

Concur. It's really up to the Pats if they get out of the AFC. If the Pats are on their game, I don't think anyone can stop them from getting to Indy.

Winning in Indy is another matter, but first things first.

Me too, usually through the first few series for both teams. I was hating the Buffalo game and how the Pats came out with two flat series to the Bills three scores. That subsided as the Pats started scoring, but I hated the two field goals they took.

Only to the "any given sunday" extent. There are no guaranteed wins in the NFL, but the Pats should win.

I am as nervous as I am for any other playoff game, which is very. The urgency and finality of the playoffs is both incredibly exciting and nerve-wracking.

That being said, if you asked me to pick last week which team we'd play, between the Broncos, Steelers and Bengals, I would have picked the Broncos. The other posters in this thread are right: if we can't beat the Broncos at home, we have no business talking about winning the Super Bowl.

yeah I am only nervous about being ashamed and embarrassed for the Patriots.. because lets face it if they go down 3 years in a row at home in their first round.. there is going to be a lot of **** talking and rightfully so. Not to mention this would be the worst play off loss in team history.

IMO the Denver Bronco's do not belong on the same field with the Patriots and the fact that fans are all like.. ooo its gonna be a tight game is ridiculous.. the only way its a tight game or the worst case scenario they lose it will because they crapped all over themselves.

I will be anxious about the Ravens.. I am more excited about tommorrow nights game.. but hopefully that excitement turns to boredom in the 2nd half because the pats are destroying.

Agreed. I don't want to even think of what would be said if the Pats lose.

Not anymore nervous than any other playoff game the Pats have ever played. Yes, people are saying "look what happened last year", but people forget that the Jets were a good team last year (they went 11-5).

I know Albert Breer just said on the radio that "this is going to be a closer game than everyone thinks", but he said that about the last Denver game and every game this year the Pats have blown out their opponents. I think the Pats should win by double digits.

This is the playoffs in an one and done format so anything can happen, but the Pats should win a game vs. the Broncos at home 95 times out of 100.

It's the playoffs. "Playoffs? Don't talk about, Playoffs? "
Anyway, I'm always a little tense, it's the nature of the beast.
    Go Pats!!!!!

Nervous, not for this game, it won't be close. Time for this Tebow idiocy to die a rightful death.

I would not want to be on the other side of the ball from this hungry and well-rested Patriots team nor this "chips are down", playoff-underdog Tom Brady. That is what would make me nervous.

I'm only nervous because in the playoffs you never know when it will end and it just hits you. It is over. Boom. No more Patriots. At least in the Super Bowl you have two weeks to prepare for the team's last game. The rounds before then? You don't get that luxury. That is what makes me nervous.

Last year I kept waiting for them to turn it on and then there were the jets of all teams celebrating before I really knew what had happened. The 05 and 06 playoff losses hit me in similar fashion. You just keep waiting for them to find a way to pull it off like they seemingly always do but then the other team is taking a knee and football moves on with your team. The 09 loss to the Ravens was such an utter dismantling it just slowly sank in and I was numb by the time it was over.

I am not ready for this season to be over. I want them to keep moving on and it is beyond my control, for that, I am nervous.

    Same here.

I am rarely, if ever nervous about the Pats. I always expect them to win and 3/4 of the time I'm right. I can live with that. It's more fun. The losses hurt, but I never expect it so I never get anxious.

What's that, Lassie? Timmy's stuck down a well? Tough sh!t. Bye Timmy.

I'm nervous about the game, but no more than every playoff game.

I don't see it as a walk in the park by any means. The Broncos present some formbidable challenges. Their defense can be Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, but there's no doubt they can put really good series together. The Broncos can get first downs from the QB position on scrambles, which is always difficult -- the ability to have that extra option to keep the chains moving can really create difficulties for a defense and open other avenues.

I don't take too much solace from the last game, because every game is different and that game was so heavily influenced by turnover differential. You can't count on turnover differential, particularly when you're talking about fumbles, which are often as much luck as anything.

Patriots worked hard for home field advantage. Hopefully, it will make a difference.

I think the only way Denver wins this game is if the Pats turn the ball over 3 times. If you think they'll do that then you should be nervous.

I don't see Denver forcing those kinds of turnovers. Moreover, I see Tebow throwing a pick. Pats roll.
