Anyone afraid we will do nothing in FA?

Is this really a serious question?

In other words, will we simply fill out the roster with undrafted rookie FA?

I share the original poster's concerns. Pioli and Belichick have yet to prove that they can win anything without the sage guidance of learned posters like the originator of this thread.

On the other hand, disaster could be avoided if only Mikey would save the day by posting a link.

Yeah those idiots didn't listen to me back in the 2001 draft! I remember screaming at the TV telling them to draft David Terrell!! and they didn't listen to me and drafted that Seymour guy instead.

I haven't trusted their player evaluations since!

In all seriousness, I would be more than happy if we could re-sign Adam and Willie and use the rest to get Seymour a new contract. The Pats have nine draft picks and will most likely get at least two more via the compensatory picks. I highly doubt they have enough room on the roster for 11 rookies. I could see one big FA (in the mold of a Rodney or Corey, or maybe even another steal like Vrabel), but by just getting healthy this team has to be the favorite to win the SB next year.

17 million is a lot of cap space and in a normal year, it would be exceptional. But there's a lot of available cap space around the league this year. The cap went up about 5-6% over what it would have been without the CBA extension. BB/Pioli like to assign figure's of what they feel players are worth and I expect that to continue although that figure may have gone up that 5-6%. They could redo Seymour, Branch, maybe get Willie back and do some UFA signings, including a Rosey Colvin type. I say him unlike Corey or Rodney who were older when signed. I have no idea who it might be but I'd really like to see them get a real impact DB, whether a CB or S. I think Rodney may be back, but it'd be rare for a guy to come back from that and be the same in 1 year's time.
