One I just heard: Patriots are 6 - 12 when Tom Brady throws 2 or more ints. They are 45 and 5 when he throws none. That's like saying your chances of getting hit by a car are 10,000 times worse if you cross the road vs. stay on the sidewalk. Why do they bother us on "analysis" shows with this obvious drivel.

No kidding.

You know, if Bailey never intercepts that Brady pass, he may never have ran it back to the Patriot half yard line before getting smoked and causing an uncalled touchback.

Seriously! :singing:

Because Sportcasters are numerically illiterate

They simply blurt out numbers to add drama but don't understand the math science behind probability. Usage of statistic to predict future events, require knowledge of potential outcomes and "fairness" of the random event. One typically hears terms like fair coin or fair dice to establish equal opportunities.

As far as the interception - lose statistics - Is it the interceptions that cause the loss or are QBs more apt to throw interceptions when a team is losing...
Does anyone beieve that Brady would have throw that second Interception if the Pats where leading?
