Any Super Bowl or big game Patriots rituals among us fans?

Hey guys

I'm not a big believer in superstition, the guys playing and coaching decide the outcome...and although lucky breaks can happen, it's what you do with those breaks that makes you a winner.

Having said that, and this is contrary to the statement I made above, I bought a Julian Edelman #11 blue Pats jersey last year and wore it for the first time during the Super Bowl against Atlanta. At halftime I said "I'm taking this jersey off, maybe it'll change their luck." Now I don't think taking my jersey off actually helped. But I wore the same jersey for the first half of the AFC title game against Jacksonville last week, and again took it off at halftime lol. We know what happened in the 4th quarter. I love that jersey, I want to wear it for the full game! haha

Anyway, do you guys have any rituals or superstitions before Pats games or during Pats games? This will be fun!

Well....when I was watching the divisional game against Baltimore, they scored two TD's to go up 14-0. I turned it off for a bit and followed the board here, and....Patriots tied it up. Pumped up, I turned it back on, only to see Baltimore score two TD's and go up 28-14. I followed the board, and....the Patriots scored 21 unanswered points.

SB 49: Gronk & Lafalle scored TD's while I was following the board. Watching the game on tv? Brady threw a pick, Matthews scored a TD with no time left in the half, then Brady threw another pick, and then Baldwin scored a TD. I then decided to take a long shower, during which time Amendola scored a TD, Seattle went three and out, and Edelman scored the go ahead TD. I turn the TV on...and the Kearse catch happened. Then I accidentally unplugged the cable cord (actual mistake), and came back to the board to read about the Butler pick.


1st Jets game this season: Watched live as they got up big early. Turned the tv off and fell asleep for 90 minutes, and the Patriots came back.

Jax game: watched every play until they went up 14-3. Turned the tv off and followed the board....Patriots scored a TD, followed by the Jags taking a knee.

Moral of the story: the team seems to succeed when I follow the board and don't watch live.

When we were down against the Ravens, Seahawks, Falcons, Jaguars I played the song Hyperpower on repeat.

Last 2 SB's waking up and not knowing where I am and not remembering so well who won, and not remembering much from end of game. Asking friends what I did 4th q Game starts 1 am where I am .
