The initial broadcast has always been the first week of September, to coincide with (and promote) the kick off for a new season. If I recall correctly the dvd is available for sale a month or two later (timed to cash in on Christmas gift sales).

I believe NFL Films has not released the last few America's Game to DVD. I recorded Super Bowl 49 America's Game from the NFL Network, but never could find the DVD.
