Another sign of possible Gronk retirement?

You conveniently „forgot“ to mention the money he is making but highlight some „glory“ angle.

I think Gronk forgets the money too cause he's too busy washing the stank off his Johnson from more cooze in a weekend than most of us see in a few lifetimes.

Surprised he’s +550 to retire and -1000 to return. Got him at +550 to retire, least I can have something to be happy about it the big guy walks away.

Last year I made a list of guys in AFC who had a higher 2017 salary than Gronk. It was a funny list. I don't view whatever this is as a distraction because everyone likes him and I'd bet my bottom dollar he leaves 100% on the field.

Gronk had already made enough money for life couple seasons ago. He could have retired back then and simply cashed in on his fame doing whatever he wanted to without being any worse for wear, and certainly much better off than breaking his body in the NFL. There's no way the Pats could have found a plug and play replacement for Gronk and what he stil brings to this offense. So the guy answers a direct question about retirement in an unclear way and he's a diva. Just like Brady was when he didn't attend OTA's right? Gtfoh

Yes suggesting the guy who acted out all offseason and behaved like a ****ing clown until he got his incentives might be in it for the money and not the mystical "fame" and glory is silly. Obviously.

He will make more in this season as player in the NFL than he would do in many years in the entertainment business. Unless you live in a parallel universe where wrestling or cameos in movies pay a lot of money. Even endorsements can't compare to 6 months of playing football.

What a bunch of garbage. BB was ready to deal Gronk to the Rams and Lions. That is all you need to know about the situation.

Anyone is replaceable once the value of dealing them is bigger than what they bring on the team relative to the money they make. People were calling BB stupid for doing that after Gronks 2017 season and, yet, with 99% of the season in the books BB ended up right about the moment to move on in terms of value.

Also don't give me any of this **** about how irreplaceable Gronk is. They made it work in 2016 when losing him was a much bigger hit than it would have been this year.

When someone who has talked about retirement for about a year now keeps talking about how much of a toll a season of football took on his body and in a pretty sober moment explained how his mind is telling him to stop abusing his body things are pretty obvious.

Finally stop putting words into peoples mouth because you have no point to make. Nobody called Gronk a diva over his health comments. He was called diva for behaving like jackass in the offseason.

Airing your complaints (whatever they may be) doesn't seem consistent with this organization.

Although I have trouble faulting him because I know there are times when I'll whine to anyone who will listen.

Which is why we all need Patsfans.com

When your nickname basically becomes an action verb or adjective, you can do just about anything...within reason.

Just appreciate watching this guy play and how dominant he is. Players like him don't come around too often and rarely at his position.

the original question was about players having up weeks and down weeks.......not whether he was ready to retire.

I think this year was an experiment in having him pace himself......if you keep going to anyone all the time they are going to wear out.......but cut the load by 30-35%, you still have that TE but he will be fresher when really needed.

but, if he goes he goes.....that pats have won all but one of their superbowls without gronk at TE

I just don't follow the dramatic lines, on any retirement. At this point, isn't 80% of the team retiring after the season?

I heard a rumor that Bob Kraft has already announced his passing away and funeral after the super bowl if they win.

And you had the temerity to accuse me of "selection bias"? Yeah -- gtfoh.

I just want him to give us one last good "Gronk" game. That's all I ask for. 8-9 catches, 120+ yards, 1-2TDs. Just like the old days. Then go ahead and retire on your own terms big guy, you earned it

In thinking about the topic. Why would we care, right now? The whole season has come down to a single game...THE GAME.

Time to worry, if you must about something you have no control over, should come much later...and even then, wait until you know.

Gronk should smarten up and stop consorting with sluts and prostitutes or he'll wind up with throat cancer or another VD like Magic Johnson, Jim Carrey and Rodman.

QM has been absolutely murdering it lately with the negative/depressing threads.

Posts like this make me ponder which are the most sarcastic of the ratings. I'm thinking "useful" followed by "genius."

These guys have been doing so much talking at the media events this week they must be running out of things to say by now. Gronk’s status comes down to whether his injury is something that will get better with rehab or is degenerative and will just get worse over time. None of us know which one it is but by the way he is still blocking and the fact hat he’s playing better now than he was earlier in the season , my bet Is that it’s not degenerataive. It seems more likely to me that something is affecting his speed and agility but it’s he’ll be able to come back from it with some rest and rehab in the off season.

Give me one more great game Sunday...7 for 110 and a TD. Either way he was amazing here and he will be missed
