A) The team wants to compete for Super Bowl with BOTH Thomas and Hoyer on the squad. Both the players and team want to sign new 2 year contracts.
B) There are several players injured who might be put on IR for a few weeks. The team is spending a couple of days to assess which should be put on IR. Perhaps only one will be put on IR this week, or perhaps both.
C) THOMAS
We've spoken about the WR situation a lot. The open question is whether the team wants Thomas and I think that they do.
D) HOYER
1) If Brady goes down for 1-4 games, I want Hoyer out there. It's really that simple. If the team agrees, then he should be back.
2) If Brady retires after this year, the team goes into 2020 with 2 quarterbacks who know the system. In the best case, Stidham is ready to start. If not, another QB would need to be acquired, keeping 2 o3 on the 53.
3) If Brady retires after 2020, we can acquire another QB next year, or not, depending on Stidham's development.
4) Notice that this strategy gives the team flexibility no matter when Brady retires.
