Just saw a report on ESPNNews that Alex Smith has scheduled a meeting with the dreaded Dr. James Andrews today to get a second opinion on whether he needs to have season-ending shoulder surgery. While he's not all that great, he has gotten better and the injuries are starting to mount for the 49ers.
