So its been a couple of days now since wining the big game, and I've had a chance to gather my thoughts, rewatch the game last night and now I'm ready to put down my thoughts.
Brady was picking apart Seattle from start to finish, he was straight up SURGICAL when it came to finding the open man, Brady made 3 bad throws in the game total, the first is the pick to lane, the second was the pick in the second half and third was the fireball he threw to jules in the endzone that was way to high and way to fast. Brady was basically scoring at will on them, and really if not for that first pick, this game would have been a blow out.
Seattle was playing with house money for most of the game, the pats up 14-7 and in the redzone, when brady makes one of the worst throws of his life, resulting in a 14 point swing(Pats missing out on 7, the colts tying it up) Then for the Seahawks to go for a td with 6 seconds left in the half, jesus the balls on Pete Carrol to go for a td there instead of kicking the field goal. This is why the seahawks were in the big game, and the packers were watching from cheesetown. You don't win titles by kicking field goals in big spots.
During the game i was massively trashing on Arrington, but after having time to review, and rewatching the game, Arrington was ALL OVER mathews on those long catches, and the mathews touchdown, Ryan really should have been in bump coverage, you don't give a guy with 8 inches of height on you, that kind of a cushion to box you out. I feel like aside from those big plays and to be quite honest, amazing catches by seattles recievers, the Seahawks probably don't 17 points in the game, they had nothing in between, everything was a bomb with an amazing catch, or a run by lynch, our defense basically shut everything else down.
This game was closer then it had any reason to be.
This game was also INCREDIBLY short. the game started at 6:30 and ended around 10pm(does anyone know if it was the shortest game in history?), and that includes the 45 minute halftime. The pace of the game was really incredible, I was visiting friends in Providence, and had expected to spend the night, but with the game ended at 10pm, I ended up just driving back to Western Mass and avoided most of snow storm.
Overall i was on the edge of my seat during the first viewing, and upon a second show, the patriots were the clearly superior team, and if not for a few incredible one in a life time catches by receivers who had no business even being on the field, this game would have been a blowout.
