Absent an acquisition, our DL's seem to be set.

Is there much competition at DL?
Barmore, Tonga, Williams
Pharms, Roy, Farmer
White (count him as a lock here or as an OLB)

I do expect a signing to compete with Pharms and Roy.

Who have I missed?

Barmore's health and return to his previous performance level is the key here.

I see White as a DL/ edge pass rusher, not an OLB. I don’t think he has the ability to drop into coverage. I expect a big season out of him.

I agree that he would be way out of position playing LB. His best position is down on the line then edge.

According to their roster, there is the international signing Wilfred penne, udfa jahvaree ritzi, and someone of whom I’ve never heard Isaiah Iton.

Williams, a hopefully healthy Barmore, and a well regarded farmer are a pretty good base from which to start. Ideally at least one more contributor arises from the group.

In this case I don't think the competition comes from behind/depth. We are talking about 3 of our best ten players (if not 3 of 5) in White, Milt, and Barmore so no one's pushing them for PT.

But I expect all 3 to be highly competitive with each other and drive each other to be better in the process.

and which of these 3 is the NT when we play the 3-4?

I think that Tonga and/or Farmer will get lots of reps.

Yeah on obvious run downs you got to move them around a little to get a little more beef on the nose and the whole line. I think Barmore and Milt have flexibility to go between NT/DT/DE and White has DE/OLB flexibility. Tonga can take that %10-%20 we want a heavier NT.

Farmer is more of a penetrating DT who largely operated at 3 tech at FSU next to Jackson. Run defense has not been his calling vs. pass rush ability. Would see him more as a 3-4 DE than NT.

Not sure on Tonga if they’re looking to try and fill a responsibility rather than a position, but if it’s more so the latter, would welcome another fatty to compete.
