Because we have to be close. Has anyone noticed that we don't turn the ball over? Tom has 5 picks in 13 games and this team NEVER fumbles, especially from the RB position. You almost wonder sometimes if BB just tells his RB's to hold onto the football and not worry so much about yardage. Even from the special teams angle, how many fumbles have we seen on punt and kickoff returns this year? We have 6 picks this year, one by Matt Cassell up by 30(hardly counts) and 4 fumbles, I believe at least two of those were TB getting stripped. Ten total, 6 less than the next best team. This team sure doesn't beat itself.

Good point, we might be in the running for least offensive turnovers in a season ever.

How often does a RB actually have the ball?

So that's the plan, I was wondering what happened to Maroney. See, guys, it's not his fault.

Looks like the record is 12 by KC in 1982. However, that was the 9 game strike season.

The real record would be 1990 NYG who had 14 in a 16 game season. They of course were coached by Tuna and BB and won the SB. Two other teams matched that, but in 10 and 12 game seasons.

So if the Patriots turn the ball over 1 time or fewer the rest of the regular season its clearly the record. If they turn it over 3 or fewer it'll be the real record.

We only run in order to kill time and give our receivers a breather! Maroney's marching orders are to take the ball, don't fumble it, and fall down. Then, when our receivers get their breath back, it's back to attack mode.
