As I said in another thread, Brent Grimes. #1 CB talent who could come cheaper due to injury problems.

Other guys that could come cheaper due to the fact that they are younger guys and haven't hit their peak yet are Keenan Lewis and Cary Williams.

I'm all for taking a shot at Lewis but the price would have to be right...very right. He's still quite an unproven gamble who had one very good second half last year.

In this case I may actually lean more towards Williams, although he'll likely cost much more than Lewis too. Williams is the one who is much lesser of a gamble in my opinion, without a doubt. He has 33 passes defended in the past 2 seasons, has played in every single game the past 2 seasons, and also had 4 INT this year. I don't think it's even close.

I highly doubt that Pittsburgh lets Keenan Lewis get away in the first place. They can't afford to let younger talent slip through their hands at this point, and he is affordable for them. I think all this talk about Lewis ends up for naught.

6' 1" Glass IR Dowling save us!

Yeah I think way too much is made of CB's who are an inch or two taller, as most fall into the 5'10" to 6' foot range range anyway. The high majority of solid NFL corners have been right in that usual height range and done just fine.

Now once you get up into the 6'2" or 6'3" range that's another story, and in some cases those guys who play solid, physical, man to man coverage can often use their height advantage to match up better. We've seen it recently with Seattle.

I loved Sean Smith coming out of Utah, and I'd love another crack at him now although Miami will never let him out of their grasp.

In the meantime I am not going to discount a solid proven CB such as Grimes who is 5'10 1/2" just because some see him as "short.."

The Patriots will wait until the last possible minute before making a
couple of take it or leave it offers.
