Sure, we may need to trade around to get value. But the draft should be able to yield
LT
WR
DT
EDGE
RB
in the first 5 picks [I think that this is a very good draft in rounds 2-4 for DT, EDGE and RB]

BTW, I could see Vrabel NOT drafting a WR in the first four rounds. After all, we have 7 that Vrabel might want as part of team. We don't know the value of the kids. Time working with Josh may help sort this out.

I think it would be a major shock if Vrabel took Jeanty with the 4th pick assuming Hunter and Carter are gone. T seems to be the safest and most logical pick.

I think the order the Pats would like to take would be 1st round T, 2nd round WR, 3rd round Edge, 3rd round RB, 4th round DT.

By far the most important team need is missing - elite, foundational talents. Lack of those type of players is FAR AND AWAY the biggest thing holding us back from having a roster poised to compete at the highest level. That has to be their priority in the draft - best player available.

It'd be AWESOME if that lined up with positional weaknesses like the OP listed. But at the end of the day, in the long run this franchise is WAY better off if they come away from this draft with pro bowl/all pro players at MLB, FS and C than if they get 5 ok but nothing special starters at LT/WR/DT/RB/EDGE even if the latter group are the bigger positional needs.

Think it depends if we move around a bit but my top 5 might be:
LT
Ol (possibly another LT)
WR
WR
RB (James White Clone)

But this craps the bed if Abdul Carter is available...

Membou - Campbell - Ersery - or Josh Conerly the goal should be to get one of them early. Then Double dip in the Third for either Trapilo - Charles Grant - Grey Zabel or Jonah Savaiinea. We need to bring Two Offensive Tackles in.

I'm leaning towards:

LT

WR

DT

TE

RB

All bets are off if Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter is available.

We know the value of the WRs. It won’t stop us from drafting one or even 2.

Mostly agree, they just need good players. I think where positional need comes in is when you have two guys who are rated largely the same, then you go in the need direction

I agree completely, either we get lucky and Hunter drops to us; or we take a day 3 project.
