No way--Crayton is a better ST player than a receiver by far. There were a lot of expectations for him when he came out, but he was basically declared a bust after two years and was benched as a WR in favor of JAGS like Sam Hurd.

Sam Hurd isn't a JAG. He's a decent young player.

Crayton also wasn't benched in favor of Hurd. If you going to making statements, don't make ones that are so easily checkable..

Crayton is a 3rd receiver/ Excellent Punt Returner. Making BS claims that he's a bust and that he was benched in favor of Hurd makes you look stupid. Especially when one just has to look at the fact that Crayton has had more than 37 receptions in each of the last 3 years and Hurd has only had 1 season where he broke double digits.. and that was 3 years ago.

Crayton not stepping up is the reason that the Cowboys traded for Roy Williams when T.O. was still in town. Austin stepping up and taking over T.O.s place instead of Crayton is why Crayton is where he is. And Crayton isn't going to get better.

But Sam Hurd had nothing to do with it.

Just thought I'd update the story:

Wide receiver Patrick Crayton, who doesn't believe the Dallas Cowboys plan to keep him on the roster this season, said Friday the team is "messing with people's careers and people's lives" and that he wants to be released immediately.

The Cowboys tried to trade Crayton during draft weekend, which he said he learned after executives from other teams contacted his agent.

"It was behind my back," Crayton said. "I just felt kind of betrayed in a way. But that's the business."

He'll never be an elite WR. Nor will he be a good WR2.

Let some other franchise pay him silly money (Raiders, Redskins, etc)
