Horrid call IMO you know its 2 down territory what not try for 7-8 yd pass (you know a real pass like a slant or a hitch) make 4th more manageable for cassell. Indy isnt a blitzing team and they are pretty fast all around not a good call vs there style of D.

That was the worst play call of the game. Well that and the entire first series(we shoulda just punted on 1st with those plays). I liked our commitment to the run ALOT but that call was a head scratcher.

Did you think all of those draw's that the pats ran for 8 - 10 yards a pop were bad calls to? That is a good call that wasn't executed.

It was a horrible call point blank!!Cassel was getting into a rhythm throwing the ball. The colts couldnt even stop our passing game all night.

I have to agree with the OP. If we were already in good field goal range, then sure, throw out a little trickery and hope for a big play. But plays like that usually go one of two ways: They catch them off guard and go for 10+, or they get blown up behind the line. That led directly to a desperation throw on 4th down, rather than a game tying field goal.

Probably 20/20 hindsight, but I thought at the time it was a strange call.

Good point. I just have a hard time second guessing plays like that. There were about 3 or 4 3rd down draws that they (faulk) picked up the first down on. If they don't make then everyone comes out of the woodwork saying Draw?? why not air it out ect..

I'm not really complaining about the draw per se. How many of those other 3rd down draws were on 3rd and 16? I bet a lot of them were on 3rd and less than 10 yards.
