In my opinion, best 2 quarters played this season by the Pats. To allow the Colts at home to score only 7 points the whole half says it all of this great Defense. In fact Defense should take a bow for whole 60 minutes but second half was special, very special. Anyone listen to half time talk by that x Denver tight end ? How silly must he feel now ! Idiot said something like ' these old players will get tired on Defense and that the Colts will score easily in the second half !!! Kudos to Coach Cowher who said the opposite that New England were in good position only down by 6 points and was sure that nobody in the Patriots locker room were feeling down or panicing. He sounded preety sure who the eventual winner would be .
Second half Offense was soo much better and those last 10 minutes must go down as the turning point in the season if God Willing we go 19- 0 . Those 10 minutes was THE statement . No matter where or even with no communication between coach and Quarterback, noise, Referees, bad calls ,,, this is the New England Patriots 2007. Destiny has been written and you cant change it.
What a second half. What a TEAM.

The Pats proved that you play 60 minutes of football. The Colts should the NFL what the rest of the NFL do, play 50 minutes when the have a lead.

I think the pass defense did a great job the entire game (with the exception of Addai's big play). If you take away that one big play, Manning doesn't even have 200 passing yards and has 0 passing TDs. Sure they made som big 3rd down plays, but overall the Pats did a great job defending the pass with that nickel package. I liked the strategy. With better tackling (and better refs) we might be looking at 24-13 game or even better. I hope we play them again at home in AFCC game this year and that both teams are at full strength.

That Addai TD was a giant cluster****. Baker got a block in the back from Moorehead, as he was diving in the make the tackle (wasn't called), and some of the other Patriots defenders ran into eachother.

The Patriots redzone defense was awsome, which is a very good sign.

Agreed on this--also keep in mind the Colts TD in the second half began on the Pats 32 yard line. I really think the difference between this game and real Pats stompdown is the health of Thomas--you HAVE to believe that's why he wasn't on the field, or as effective, as you'd want. If he is, I think Addai is not nearly as effective, and this game is a romp. But even with the way it went, 7 points in the second half for the Colts, compared to 32 in the second half the last time they played. I'd say that's better.

Completely agree.....our defense was stout in the second half and made the big plays when they needed to. Thru this whole running up the score crap I have kept thinking that BB was using each game as a tune-up to get the team ready ... playing all 60 minutes, to make sure that when a game like this comes along the team is prepared to go the full 60 minutes. Both sides of the team did that...and won.

Yep, Pats went 3-4 in the red zone on the new and improved Colts' D, while the Colts only managed 1-3 on the supposed "aging" Pat's D. And which D is overrated??

What I find the most amusing is that Colts fans are pinning their offensive hopes in a possible AFCCG rematch on a 35 year old WR with bad knees.

I thought Manning was all world, why should it make any difference who he had to throw to?

To look at the other side of things in the second half, I see that Maroney only ran it 6 times for 11 yards. That could be better.

I've been waiting to talk about this and here is the perfect opportunity. The 2nd half was so reassuring, because it proved that the boys can still do what got them their championships - execute in tough situations with little margin for error. The redzone D was also great - this has been one of our few weaknesses this year. Not only that, but the offense seemed to get adjusted to the Colts D and really scored fairly easily in the 4th. The D was excellent all game long.

I agree that the next game won't be as close. We'll have homefield (we'll be able to use hard counts instead of silent counts which should really help our OT's against their speed rushers), we'll know what we're getting and how to beat it, and with the publicity the one-sided reffing has gotten, the calls should be much more even. Even with Harrison and Ugoh back, I think the next one isn't nearly as close.

I agree.

I think the lack of proper communications made it hard to adjust on the fly in the first half.

but boy did they adjust for the second half.

I think they crush in foxboro. Colts are slimy weasels who can't win without huge advantages.

manning missing marvin?
how bout brady almost winning last year with his receivers?
double standard - either brady is unbelieveable for what he did before moss, or manning's not as good if he's hapless without marvin. it's the same old bs.
basically media and opponents jealous of pats success. what bothers me is goodell's behavior, and I still have concern that he was a jet fan, and also dungy's repulsive holier than thou spewing of the 'right' way to be, when his team does all it can to screw with opponents - it's such hypocritical bs and sickening. Shuler waited until after we beat the colts to make his lame attempt to smear - totally exposing himself as a jealous fool. at some point, people will have to let up because they will see how lame they are looking by clinging to it ala easterbrook or peter king.
remember - when the cowboys, 49ers, steelers were kings and smashing everyone, everyone hated them as well and took every opportunity to smear them and belittle their accomplishments. it's actually the highest form of compliment - when people hate you, you have arrived at the top!
