2026 NFL Combine

The lack of agility tests are really annoying. It would drive BB mad.
A prospect needs to do 6 out of 10 tests to get a RAS score. They probably need to tighten that up as its a much less powerful tool without agility testing. I don't see how you can use RAS to compare prospects within that year or other years if one guy is doing all 10 tests and another 6.

The combine should do an 'official combine RAS' requiring all ten tests. Then have a combine scoreboard, add a bit of prestige.

Good article.

Feldman highlights Rueben Bain, Arvell Reese, Sonny Styles, Kenyon Sadiq, Makai Lemon, Ted Hurst, Ja'Kobi Lane,
Max Iheanachor, Monroe Freeling, Dillon Thieneman, Treydan Stukes, Taylen Green, and Mike Washington.

He left out Caleb Banks, Jacob Rodriguez, Jeff Caldwell, Chris Brazzell and of course Akheem (all roads lead to Akheem Mesidor) Mesidor.

I said this pretty much based on what one of the trainers of NFL guys told me last year:

7. They said it: "You have to look at what a player is going to be asked to do, and what are the skills that are important to that position, and what metric is actually applicable to that. I was reviewing the [2026] combine results -- the 40 times, I would say, across positions, this was as fast collectively as a group [in history]. Why is that? There's so much training that goes into it, so they're training specifically for these particularly drills. But I would three-quarters of the drills ... aren't a real-world application of what the player is going to do on the field." -- Texans executive VP and GM Nick Caserio, on a panel at the 2026 MIT Sloan Analytics Conference

The combine is fun, but if they want it to actually mean something then they need to make some changes

DDS (4b), Roush (10b) and Rodriguez (13a) are on my 35-man short board.

Lance should be on our radar with one of the 4th-rounders if he's still available, which I doubt... But will we have filled enough of our more-pressing needs by 95 to think of using it on him?
