2026 Mock Draft Thread

An intriguing early 7 round mock from Ian Cummings of PFN:

I think Manx will like this one. He has the Pats taking:

13. Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon: "A true three-down TE is a force multiplier in the evolving NFL, and Kenyon Sadiq can be special within that lens. He’ll assist with 12 personnel alongside Hunter Henry in the short-term, and in the long-term, he can be an X-factor for Drake Maye and Co. with his athleticism, RAC, stemming ability, soft hands, and 'Skeleton Key' blocking profile." Of note, Peter Woods (14), Spencer Fano (16) and Arvell Reese (21) are still on the board.
45. R Mason Thomas, EDGE, Oklahoma: "R Mason Thomas teleports off the line with his first step and curvilinear acceleration, but he also has awe-inspiring speed-to-power at 6’2″, 247 pounds — a quality that translates."
77. Cayden Green, OG, Missouri: "Cayden Green shifted to OT this year out of necessity, but his best fit remains at guard, where he can overwhelm in a phone booth with his hand power and anchor strength."
108. Germie Bernard, WR. Alabama
110. Alex Harkey, OT, Oregon
142. Jalen McMurray, CB, Tennessee
174. Daniel Wingate, LB, Maryland
187. Barion Brown, WR, LSU
194. Bray Hubbard, S, Alabama
206. Tellek Lockett, OL, Texas St.

I would take Arvell Reese and Dillon Thieneman in that mock. The 3rd and 4th round picks are terrific. My revision would be:

13. Arvell Reese, LB/EDGE, Ohio St.
45. Dillon Thieneman, S, Oregon
77. Cayden Green, OG, Missouri
108. Germie Bernard, WR, Alabama
110. Alex Harkey, OT, Oregon
142. Nyck Harbor, WR, S. Carolina - moonshot
174. Romello Height, LB, Texas Tech
187. Collin Wright, CB, Stanford
194. Mikhail Kamara, EDGE, Indiana
206. Michael Trigg, TE, Baylor

22. Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio St.

I like both first round options but I'd find it hard to pass on Fano. He's currently my highest ranked of the three options for now.

I love all of Sadiq, Fano, Woods and Reese. Reese's film so far gets me most excited, but I'd be thrilled with any.

Cummings agrees that this year's OT class is not up to 2025 (which was not up to 2024), but he seems to think it has a number of solid OT prospects:

6. Caleb Lomu, Utah
8. Francis Mauigoa, Miami
16. Spencer Fano, Utah
19. Fa'amili Fa'amoe, Wake Forest
23. Drew Shelton, Penn St.
32. Kadyn Proctor, Alabama
38. Isaiah World, Oregon
43. Lance Heard, Tennessee
57. Austin Barber, Florida
76. Drew Azzopardi, Washington
79. Tristan Leigh, Clemson

After the Texas Tech game, I'm not quite ready to crown Fano.

Interesting mock from Sayre Bedinger:

Starting to reflect current season vs. pre-season hype:

1. Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana
2. Rueben Bain, EDGE, Miami
4. Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU
7. Dante Moore, QB, Oregon
8. Keldric Faulk, EDGE, Auburn
10. Francis Mauigoa, OT, Miami
11. Caleb Downs, S, Ohio St.
12. Spencer Fanu, OT, Utah
13. Quincy Rhodes, EDGE, Arkansas
15. Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon
16. Drew Shelton, OT, Penn St.
17. Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio St.
20. Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio St
24. Conner Lew, OC, Auburn
26. Mateen Ibirogba, DT, Wake Forest
27. Anthony Lucas, EDGE, USC
28. Fa'alili Fa'amoe, OT, Wake Forest

He has the Pats taking Francis Mauigoa at 10, with Caleb Downs, Spencer Fanu, and Arvell Reese available.

No TJ Parker. Only 2 1st round WRs.

Seems a bit too much like Ian Cummings' mock, I'm a little suspicious. But good to see some new names shaking things up.

If the Pats end up picking around 10, there will likely be 1-2 enticing QBs on the board, which increases the odds of a trade-up partner. My dream scenario right now would be to trade back to the 18-20 range, add a 2nd round pick, and then get:

1. Arvell Reese, LB/EDGE, Ohio St.
2a. Chris Bell, WR, Louisville
2b. Dillon Thieneman, S, Oregon

Then address OL in rounds 3-4, and BPA at TE, RB, CB and DL/EDGE.

Sign me up. Add Cayden Green or best of any of the Oregon and Iowa OL available. Mesidor and Height are my favourite later round pass rushers but no-one has made me fall in love with them yet. The same is true of TE. Right now it's Sadiq and then ???????.

I agree with you about TE. Ian Cummings had Marlin Klein going at 69 in his recent mockn(an auspicious omen for a potential Pats TE), and Klein's size and athleticism make him intriguing.

Kade Pieper's athleticism and farm strength intrigue me.

The Wake Forest kids intrigue me. Ibirogba plays about 50% of the DT snaps but is very disruptive. Fa'amoe is very physical at RT.

Players will be up and down over the next 7 months. Hard to predict, the future is. But I think this draft will have some good talent through 4 rounds.

If we lose today then I think picking top 10 becomes a real possibility. If that's the case, then I'm investing all my hopes in Rueben Bain falling a touch because of athleticism/length questions. Another edge rusher will need to step up to replace him at the top of the board though.

If we win today, particularly if we look good doing so, I think anything is still possible.

Our cake puff schedule makes anything possible. I think the odds are we will be somewhere in the 10-20 range, but still too early to tell.

Reese and Sadiq are my wild cards right now. Reese in particular - I can see him being more valuable than even someone like Bain or Faulk.

Based on past 3 games, excluding turnovers against Pittsburgh, we do not look like a bottom 10 team:

New Orleans, Tennessee, Miami, NY Jets, NY Giants, Carolina, Chicago, Cleveland at the bottom.

NE, Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Houston, Arizona, Atlanta, San Francisco, Denver, Dallas and Cincinnati somewhere in the next tier for now.

Seattle, LA Chargers, LA Rams, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Washington better, but beatable.

Philly, GB, Buffalo and Detroit clearly better. Won't get to that level this year.

Pats could easily move up a tier if they get their act together.

I agree but this kind of proves my point. If we'd lost today against a team in your lower tier we could hardly consider ourselves to be better than those other teams you have in the same tier as ourselves. Maybe Houston.

But we didn't and now we can start to entertain the idea of moving up the tiers. Next test Buffalo.

Pats currently at #13 per Tankathlon, could move up to #12 if Dallas beats GB.

Definitely within reach.

However, sticking at 14 for now. Based on Concensus big board:

*** Trade: Pats trade 13 to Seattle for 23 and 55.

23. Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio St. (55, way too low)
45. Chris Bell, WR, Louisville (67)
55. Fa'alili Fa'amoe, RT, Wake Forest (69)
77. Mateen Ibirogba, DL, Wake Forest (86)
109. Kade Pieper, IOL, Iowa (107)
111. Amare Ferrell, S, Indiana (98)
142. Hezekiah Masses, CB, Cal (144)
174. Mikail Kamara, EDGE, Indiana (177)

Need to find a way to trade up from 174 to around 100, maybe to a teamwith an extra 3rd round comp.pick. If that could happen, then I would revise the above mock:

*** Trade: Pats trade 13 to Seattle for 23 and 55.
23. Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio St. (55, way too low)
45. Chris Bell, WR, Louisville (67)
*** Trade: Pats send 55 and 174 to unidentified team for roughly 62 and 99.
62. Fa'alili Fa'amoe, RT, Wake Forest (69)
77. Mateen Ibirogba, DL, Wake Forest (86)
99. Amare Ferrell, S, Indiana (98)
109. Kade Pieper, IOL, Iowa (107)
111. Tacario Davis, CB, Aizona (118)
142. Akheem Mesidor, EDGE, Miami (142)

That would address almost every area, except RB and TE:

Alpha X: Chris Bell
RT: Fa'alili Fa'amoe
IOL: Kade Pieper
Rotational Penetrating DT: Mateen Ibirogba
Developmental/Rotational EDGE: Akheem Mesidor
Stud LB/EDGE: Arvell Reese
Versatile Safety with Range: Ameer Ferrell
3rd Boundary CB: Tacario Davis

All offense, through rounds 4:

1. Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon
2. Chris Bell, WR, Louisville
3. Fa'alili Fa'amoe, OT, Wake Forest or Caden Green, OL, Missouri
4a. Jonah Coleman, RB, Washington
4b. Kade Pieper, OL, Iowa

All defense:

1. Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio St.
2. Dillon Thieneman, S, Oregon
3. Mateen Ibirogba, DT, Wake Forest
4a. Tacario Davis, CB, Washington
4b. Akheem Mesidor, EDGE, Miami

Could also do an EDGE in the 2nd round and Indiana S Amare Ferrell in the 4th.

Interesting mock from Blake Brokermeyer at CBS

Has us taking Jordyn Tyson.

Zxavian Harris, David Bailey, Quincey Rhodes Jr, Colton Hood and Cashius Howell all going in the first round.

So if that mock came to pass:

QB: Maye
RB: Henderson
WR: Bell, Williams, Diggs
TE: Henry
OL: Campbell, Wilson, Bradbury, Ioane, Fanu

DL: Williams, Barmore
EDGE: Landry, Rhodes
LB: Spillane, Gibbons
S: Woodson, Faulcy
CB: Gonzalez, Davis, Jones
