2026 Draft: WR

Drafting WRs is hard.

Where would you draft this guy?

6-2, 210lbs, 31.5" arms
4.57 forty
1.62 10 yard split
33" VJ
121" BJ
7.32 3-cone

Best College seasons

Receptions - 48
Yards - 805
Avg - 18.7
TDs - 6

If you said late day 3 at best, you'd be right. That's exactly where he was drafted in round 5.

This is, of course, Puka Nakua.

There are two morals to this story.

1. Character and intelligence are everything when it comes to WRs - more so than athleticism, production or measurables.

2. Always draft a WR on day 3 if they interview well. You never know. 5 years before this, the Rams drafted Cooper Kupp in the 3rd round.

Sorry to be a Stribling bore but just something I noticed when looking at his season.

Three of his best games last season all came in the playoffs

Tulane - 5 for 79
Georgia - 7 for 122
Miami - 5 for 77

His two best regular season games came against the toughest opponent and arguably their biggest game of the year

Georgia - 3 for 96
Miss St. (Egg Bowl) - 4 for 66 2TDs

I'm not going to claim those are exceptional numbers but I do like when a prospect puts up his best performances in the biggest games rather than beating up on the small schools.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that Josh Cameron has the best chance of the day 3 WRs to be a Nacua like success story.

He has the size to be physical at the catch point and not be bullied by DBs.
Exceptional ball control. Catches outside the frame of his body. Only 1 drop on the year.
Runs routes with nuance and intelligence

I think he's a chainmover rather than a deep threat and his athleticism is underwhelming but 3rd downs and EZ is where he can thrive.

In what I have watched of Ole Miss, it seemed like Steibling was the clutch/go-to guy when things counted.

Gaudy numbers are nice, but making the big play when it counts is even nicer. Stribling seemed to pass that test on initial impression.

Cooper Kupp was my binky at the time.

Don't believe me lol I keep the receipts

@manxman2601 are you sold on Malachi Fields now...worked his was in the first Round.

Please explain the discrepancy

Last two seasons

Malachi Fields - 91 for 1438 - 10 TDs

Tet McMillan - 174 for 2,731 - 18 TDs

This is my issue with Fields. Why wasn't he putting up Tet McMillan type numbers when he has the same size and similar tape? It's not like he was close either, he was nowhere near.

Late bloomer maybe?? Notre had a nice Offense this year Jaden GreatHouse - Eli Raridon?? Also some Prospects are better Pro than College Players.

Well Greathouse didn't play but that's by the by. Even at Virginia he didn't put up more than 60 catches and 810 yards in a season. In fact, and I've only just noticed this, statistically, he has got worse each of the last three years.

I like his tape, I just wonder why he's never been able to dominate so I'm left wondering whether he has the athleticism or route running skill to do so - he certainly has the catch ability. My guess is that he's lacking in both. I worry he's more N'Keal Harry than Tet McMillan.

I'm willing to be proven wrong but I wouldn't take the risk in the first.
