2026 Draft: Safety

For me:

1. Stukes (Jelani McDonald)
2. Thieneman (will go too high)
3. VJ Payne (upside)
4. Zakee Wheatley (does a lot right)

I'd add Cole Wisniewski (hits like a truck) and Lorenzo Styles (could be an elite special teamer) to my list.

Maybe the Rams will take Stukes at #13.
Do you think the Rams are going to draft a Safety when they just re-signed Curl? Or are you thinking that they put Stukes as their "STAR" DB?

There's been some talk on twitter, inspired by Cameron Wolfe, about us still not being done at safety and the possibility of 3 safety looks on defense. That would tie in with Kamari Ramsey being a combine meet as he played as a nickel safety this year. That further brings Treydan Stukes into the equation too but also, excitingly, Keionte Scott. Just something worth bearing in mind.

This is a Wheatley and Wisniewski tweet.

Need to watch some film of this guy, but if he can really play nickel, single high and 2 deep at a Power 4 starting level, my safety preference could possibly be:

Day 2: Treydan Stukes
Round 4-5: VJ Payne
Late Day 3: Kapena Gushiken

The NFLSE crew rank their safeties. I think this is important because based upon pre draft contacts, we might well be taking a safety in the second round.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before but Zakee Wheatley has never had a penalty called him against him throughout his college career.
