Mendoza looked great. He could crash and burn in one of the next two games like Simpson did today. Young kids, they can be volatile.

So not really looking at QBs by I am trying to figure out the top 3 guys. I was seeing mocks before where all 3 went kind of early. Now I am seeing Simpson fall to the last pick of round 1 or into round 2.

Obviously not so good for us unless someone wants to trade up with us and we want out of the pick. Any idea if this is just wishful thinking by fans or if this is how GMs actually might feel about things? Personally I am always skeptical about QB drops like this... particularly in drafts that are not all that strong.

Simpson had a really bad end to the season to the point where a first round pick would be a surprise. The prevailing narrative now seems to be that he should probably go back and transfer to another team. He hasn't hit the portal yet so maybe that suggests he will declare. Dante Moore is going to be making an interesting decision too.

There were reports last week that Raiola was prepared to sit a year behind Moore should he come back to school. That does seem a little unlikely to me though in these era of the transfer portal where he could play somewhere this year and then transfer to Oregon next year.

No. He's a backup at best. He's lost his ability to throw deep.
