Presumably if we had gotten Savaiinaea at 38 we would not have taken Jared Wilson at 38. I'm pretty happy with who we got, however we got there.

Maybe. We still needed a C and Wilson was picked at 95. RB wasn't seen as an area of need with Gibson and Stevenson on the roster. I wonder if we would have drafted a RB if we had taken G at 38.

He took a big helmet to helmet collision running out of bounds a play or two before that. He looked a little off after that. I thought he was going to be sent to the blue tent.

He wasn’t making that decision while entering keystrokes on his phone from his sofa and he likely wasn’t firing on all cylinders.

Was it a bad mistake- sure. Tom Brady took an intentional grounding penalty in the end zone in a Super Bowl

I'll quote Boomer Esiason: "Horrible call, I've never seen that play called when you overthrow a WR by 7 or 8 yards downfield. Deion Branch was right there, it sailed over his head. How is that any different than sailing it out of bounds or threw the endzone when you have a WR in the area?"
