2025 Draft: WRs

Hey draftniks, who is the guy that you were higher on the most everyone else and you were willing to die on the hill of him being better than others thought.

Mine is David Montgomery
Terry McLaurin. He was my top WR out of that group of AJ Brown, Harry etc.
Terron Armstead
Shaq Mason

I know why Hunter didn’t do any of the tests (he’s seen as the top prospect so why do anything which might harm that), but to me that is a negative. If he is so confident in his abilities, he should show them off: at least at his pro day.

Why risk a stumble when there's so much good tape out there? Abdul Carter, Tyler Warren, Ashton Jeanty haven't tested either.

Hunter didn't do any tests, but he ran routes for Sanders at his QB Pro Day. Evaluators were noting and critiquing Hunter's routes, explosion, hands, etc.

I keep reading it is a weak draft but it seems deep at WR and DL. Am I missing something? Too caught up in the draft and losing perspective?
Let me bring some perspective by comparing to last years class...

Top 10:
Nabers
MHJ
Odunze
Travis Hunter
Brian Thomas
Xavier Worthy
TMac
Ladd McConkey
Matthew Golden
Luther Burden

It's an incredibly weak draft. You'll probably see at least 3/4 wr go but it should only be Hunter and Tet. Again when people are talking themselves into Golden as a 1st RD pick you know it's rough. No disrespect to those that like him but it is what it is. We've definitely lost perspective on what a 1st RD pick looks like imo. I would not say it's a deep draft at all save rush and ot.

IDL isn't great either. I don't see a big difference between Graham and Nolen. After that you're not running to the mic to announce anyone.

He did run routes and catch balls at the Colorado Pro Day. He reportedly looked great catching balls from teammate Shadeur Sanders.

Great points Bacon especially @ WR I see talk about Matthew Golden being the #2 WR in this Draft... a player who's identical to Isaiah Bond who should go in the Third or Fourth. No knock on Golden but he came on late in the bowl games.

he can only hurt his value so that would make no sense.

Ain’t that the truth. Figures the one year we need a LT like Alt or a wr like Harrison, Nabers or Thomas and there’s no clear cut winner at pick 4.
Agreed.

There's also a flip side. The one year we needed a QB like Maye to fall to 3, he did.

Josh Norris and Hayden Winks do their top 16 WRs. I've been linking to some of their breakdown videos upthread.

I'm still working my way through it but there was an interesting stat on a day 3 potential X I really like:

"Pat Bryant had three game winning TDs in the final seconds of regulation or overtime in 2024"

I just wish he was a 10th of a second faster.

Well Ricky White improved his 4.61 so I take it Pat Bryant can do the same. Really surprised he ran that slow he plays pretty fast on tape. I'm going to forgive Pat Bryant for that pedestrian 40: he has a excellent Route tree. Bryant could be a Day 3 Steal: I also like his QB.

It's certainly a dood draft for WR 2 and WR 3 types. I like all 3 you mention but I'm hoping we're drafting a WR before day 3.
Don't encourage his love of Day 3.

Seriously though I hope we hit on Starter or Two: at least some quality Back-ups on Day 3.
There's no reason they can't, if they are smart. R4 and R5 should net you IOL guys who will be contributors. I think it could fall for them that R4 at #106 gets them a skilled player that you value, but the draft would need to fall perfectly. #106 could net them a day 1 starter.
