Why are you comparing a 6'4" X receiver to a 6'1" slot or Z? They two are very different positions and take very different skill sets. The X can often rely on straight line speed and size of body, but the slot and Z have to rely on quickness, cuts, and routes much more. Take DK Metcalf (Outside X) and Tyreek Hill (Move Z) as examples. They are just so radically different that you cannot compare them. Its apples to oranges. The truth is that a balanced team has both.

I feel like you only saw their names and ASSumed that I was comparing them as WRs. If you had read the post, you would have realized that I was comparing only their speed and 40 time. Polk had a faster MPH than Higgins did at every 10 yd increment and overall top speed. In my mind it did not make sense that Higgins stride length made up for his slower MPH.

Its just silly, that I was curious about something and reached out to try and get opinions about said question? I am stuck on MPH and I also think the 40 time is ridiculous. I took what you responded with is "I have no idea about the original question, but I am going to add things that do not pertain to the original question to seem smart"

As I said I DID compare their SPEED not WR playstyle or position they will line up in. I absolutely can take criticism does not matter if it is a female or male. Weird you would bring that up since it had not been addressed. You put two guys and their stats together and tricked us into thinking you were comparing them, but you actually weren't. Seems like you are very skilled in Jedi mind tricks. Poor snowflake. I think Bech is the Puka power slot type. How does that fit Vrabel more? We would still need an outside X. Vrabel loved AJ Brown who was the traditional X.

Because Vrabel has explicitly stated he wants someone who can make contested catches, yards after catch and redzone. The two of them are close but Bech has the advantage over Higgins on two and is tied for the TDs.

I like Bech a lot. He is a strong and beefy presence. I have to learn more about McVay's power slot where Puka and Kupp play and see how it fits with Josh's schemes. How does it differ from regular slot? What do the Z and X do when someone in in the power slot? Stuff like that. I called plays for the first time last year in a local league, and all this is interesting.

Chimere Dike seems like a very Fast Slot in the mold of Cooper Kupp.

I really like Higgins and think he would be an instant upgrade to the WR room, but I have a question I would like answered if you can or offer an opinion.

I realize stride length impacts the amount of ground covered, but I don't get how Higgins could have a 4.47 and Polk a 4.52. So Polk had a faster 10 yd MPH and that equated to a .01 faster time. It feels like the difference between 18.51 and 17.8 would make the time greater than .01. Maybe I just believe too much in MPH over time, but this just does not make sense in my head.

I would love to be able to find a site that allows you to input data and then get a visual result like the simulcast overlay

I have bolded where I asked my question and asked for answers/opinions. The question was basically will stride length counteract a slower MPH. I then compared their speed at 10yd increments, again saying it did not make sense in my head.

I was comparing speed and then you proceeded to explain that they are an X and a Z and its 2 different positions with different skillsets and then went into detail about those skillsets. You are correct they require different skills and that a balanced team needs both. That was not relevant to my initial question.

I see that why you thought I was comparing as WRs and not just people that ran a 40. I used them because as examples to illustrate my confusion with stride length and MPH. I thought it was clear that I was only comparing speed, that is my bad for ASSuming. Then I tried to make it clearer since I did not make it clear enough initially.

Yes what you wrote was educational and true, but not relevant to my question. I do like MPH because a 40 time out of a track stance is ridiculous for WRs. Yep I did compare them, but when you say stats I ASSumed you meant production and that is not where I went at all and felt you made an illogical leap. In the initial grid it was strictly speed numbers.

I do see why you said I was comparing them because I was, but only speed and I ASSumed that was clear by my asking a question about speed and stride length in the 40.

You got me, I did put their names together as a comparison. Again, I ASSumed when you said stats that you meant production and that was not what I was going for. You also thought you would be big and bad by calling me a snowflake. When I was trying to explain my point about our confusion. Bringing up being a female was that your attempt at playing female victim to the big bad man or put me in my place. It actually was pretty funny when you did that.

Just FYI, my time in the Air Force gave me pretty thick skin so I am OK being criticized by men and women.

I really don't feel like any of this was criticism as much as you explaining something that was not relevant to anything I initially wrote. I thought my question was clear, so the fact that we each wasted time and energy into this was aggravating and I do know I could have just said thanks and moved on, but I am still trying to figure out stride length and MPH and the impact on 40 time.

Another example is that 6-4 Donte Thronton had a 4.3 40 yd and Golden had a 4.29, but at no time did Golden have a faster MPH nor does he have a longer stride. I know they are different positions within the WR group.

I am sorry I fooled you and the rest of the forum; I will contain my trickiness. Do not underestimate my sneakiness. OK I will accept that I am a snowflake . As far as using the F bomb, that is in my Everday vocab. It does not add any legitimacy to my posts nor does it make me feel macho/big and bad.
