NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION 2024 Week 4 Other NFL Games

I'm just glad the Jags are still winless since December of 2023.

Bills came back down to earth. This is a preview of what's to come when the games get more serious later in the season. Good defenses will shut them down. There's nobody that scares you on offense.

The NFC is extremely weak.

Jury is still out on the Vikings. The problem I see is that their offense can't move the ball enough to score points unless they have great field position from a turnover, etc..

No matter how many points the Chefs offenses scores, their D continues to not allow the opposing team to outscore them.

Jets...Lol.

Eagles are done. They were a one year wonder.

did anyone see the Jets game? 9 points, WTF. It just doesn't make any sense???

First, the Denver defense was awesome. Our offense as currently constructed, will have minus offensive numbers against them. They were hitting, stacking up the OL, making tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage or in the backfield. JETS had a lot of penalties, false start, linemen downfield, motion. Today, Saleh publicly cited Rodgers cadence as too difficult for the offense to respond to. Rodgers said how about improving the players performance and not blaming his cadence. Too bad no on posts the back pages of the NY papers anymore.

I'm going to partially agree with your Bills take, but what cost them yesterday was their defense. They are too light 1 through 11. They have coverage safeties, light linebackers, and free-lancing pass rushers. Pretty much the worst possible matchup for a power-running team with a vertical passing game and a QB who can really run as well. They can hang in there against zone-run, sideways-throw teams like half the league, but they can't take many punches to the mouth.

Eagles are a much different team without their (2) top receivers. They have a BYE and both will be back for week 6. Perfect timing.
They also have an easy schedule. Don't give up on them quite yet.

If Damar Hamlin didn't have the tragedy and miraculous recovery he would have been cut long ago. He just isn't a very good safety.

Went and watched Jayden Daniels game on replay. Very interesting guy, had him as best rookie campaign of any QB and possible ROY, but also has him flaming out a bit next year as teams adjust to him. My theory being he'll eventually run less as hits pile up, teams will scheme to pressure him in the pocket. After watching the game, I wonder if his running is so elite teams won't be able to adjust.
It was also really weird watching a QB regularly have 5+ seconds to throw.

Overall, I had Daniels in the game:

Easy throw with no pressure or/wide open or ran the ball: 30 Plays
Good throws: 3
OK Throws: 3
Missed throws: 4

Not sure what to make of that, 95% of the game looked like one of those throwing workouts at the draft, hit the open guy, nobody rushing.

These did include a couple penalty plays.

Bengals and Cards defenses are not good. He has Bears, Steelers, Ravens, Browns coming up, very interested how he plays thru those defenses.

The play calling or scheme against AZ left guys wide open all over the place and zero pressure.

I downgrade the elite runners a bit as over time they need to throw more, can Daniels run in weeks 14-17 like he does now? Will teams smarten up and pressure him more? Is he just so quick it won't matter, and you open yourself up to big runs? He is so fun to watch when he runs, effortless speed.
Is Washington's line great or does AZ suck at pass rush? Last 2 games Washington has 86.3 vs Cincy and then 88.5 vs AZ for PFF Pass Blocking. Both rank as 2 of the best games this year for pass blocking.

Daniels is on his way to ROY, we will see if he fades a bit as he plays better defenses and teams get more tape on him and as he takes more hits.
So far, he's playing in a great scheme and making the plays that are there and adding a level of running ability that is elite. I just don't understand how he has 5+ seconds to throw on almost every play.

Welp Huntley is playing, so that means a much tougher game for the Pats.
