Jon Gruden still wants to coach again

It's been nearly three years since Jon Gruden's NFL coaching career ended, abruptly and unceremoniously after the systemic and selective release of items from the 650,000 document trove harvested during the investigation of the Washington franchise.

“Yeah, I’m interested in coaching,” Gruden told CBSSports.com. “My dad was a college coach, I was a college coach at Pitt, my wife was a cheerleader at Tennessee when I met her. Hell yeah, I’m interested in coaching. I know I can help a team, I know I can help young players get better, and I know I can hire a good staff, and that’s the only thing I can guarantee. But yeah, I’m very interested in coaching at any level, period.”

He had 6 winning seasons out of 15 as head coach.

As an OC and HC, he had a top ten offense 5 out 18 seasons.

He had a bottom 10 offense 7 out of 18 seasons.

He has had a top ten offense 1 time in the last 2 decades.

He hasn't made the playoffs since 2007.

I thought Maye was playing a little scared today having no trust in his offensive line. Exept for Strange and Wallace they are all slow footed. Strange looked quick and mobile at center but I don't know if he has enough sand in his pants to play guard, it looks like he lost a little beef from last year. I don't want any more rookie lineman on this team next year, sign three or four veterans who can pass block. In order for our QB to grow, he first needs to be protected.

Usually after year three a team will attempt to extend their rookie QBs - Lawrence, Herbert both signed extensions after year 3, BUT both teams were not complete dumpster fires as the Pats are currently. I maintain that Drake Maye will not sign an extension. He will most likely have a new head coach after next season. The franchise is ****ing doomed...D O O M E D

Nick Caley was our Q B coach and left for the rams when he didn't get our O C job. I don'tknow if he was told the job was his or not? He is doing terrific for the Rams as the passing game coordinator and tight end coach. Love to see him as our oc if we dump the oc and dc.

He was TE coach here. Hard to tell what impacts and responsibility he has in LA.
