One reporter asked why Mayo told the network crew before the game that Gibson would “absolutely” start, due to Stevenson’s fumbles, but then didn’t do it.

Mayo said “coach’s decision”.

Mike Reiss asked for more clarity and asked him what changed because he was emphatic about it so something must have changed between the interview and the game.

Mayo said “I understand, it was a coach’s decision”.

This is exactly how I wanted it to go. However, we are facing a double edged sword here. An embarrassing loss means Maye isn't playing well. I'm not impressed with Drake Maye as a lot of posters and people in the media are. He'll give you a throw and a run, but that's it.

We are never going to see what potential this player has unless Bob cleans house and does whatever it takes to team Maye up with a real OC/HC.

Agreed. But on Drake we see the talent and potential. He's playing with JAGs and dollar general OL. Cole Strange the first round pick has to play C. Drake has to make plays that aren't there. Everything around him is in dysfunction. They have to clean house and get a real HC and GM in here!
