We can talk about the horrible offensive line, no #1 WR, but it should be obvious this team lacks a free safety more than anything else.
Now, it may sound like I'm saying we need a guy with coverage skills.
But that's not what I'm saying: we need a guy who can read the defense and get everyone organized in the secondary. We need the second coming of Devin McCourty. Dugger was always a strong safety in-the-box type. Jaylinn Hawkins is underwhelming.
We have to give them a pass this year but if they load up during the offseason and come back next season equally dysfunctional then you know it's bad coaching/coordinating.
He’s been targeted the 10th most times in the NFL, but only has 6 passes defended and one INT. That’s not good. He’s not a game changer which the poster was saying.
I don’t like PFF at all, but he only grades out as “average” so far this season.
