That is true, the media and others act like football didn’t exist before the Super Bowl era. I have to give Mike Torico credit, this morning he was being interviewed, he said that the Chiefs could be the first team to win three straight since the Packers, I was shocked he actually said it.

If you kick it short, problem is that your guys can’t start running til the guy catches it, so in all likelihood he will get to at least the 20 or 25 before you get to him. So you might push them back a few yards but there’s a risk of the touchdown if one guy messes up. Versus kicking it out of the end zone and just losing a few yards…

Side note : Swift is extremely famous and is doing well for herself. I don’t listen to her music, but several of her earlier songs are catchy.

I think the ultra-famous stage she’s in is a bit much, as it seems like it’s more of a « you need to be a fan or you’re out of the group » for a certain segment of mostly-younger-females. She’s « good » but nowhere near as good as it seems like others think she is.

I get why the league embraces this - she is arguably one of the top 10-20 most famous people in the world. But the core NFL demographic can’t hum anything she’s come out with since 2020.

I hear ya 100%. My daughter is about to turn 15 and she’s in that weird segment where she’s like “I’m a Swift fan” but doesn’t seem to actually really know any songs or much about the artist at all. Seemingly she just says she is because that’s what you’re supposed to be as a girl at her age. Which is stupid lol.

Had a funny moment last weekend when I was flipping through a disc collection of mine looking for a DVD with my kids and ended up in the CD section. I had a Taylor Swift CD in there. My daughter was bewildered. She was like what??? You’re a fan??? I said see, this is her first CD I bought back when I was only a little older than you are now, when she was a country artist and it was pretty decent. It’s also the last one I bought. She read the song titles on the disc and didn’t recognize any of them.
