First ballot nominees:

I'd say Revis is in on the first ballot, and probably Joe Thomas. Freeney definite yes for HOF and decent chance he's first ballot. Harrison probably yes for HOF but doubtful on first ballot. Then again the HOF loves them some Stillers so maybe he will be first ballot. Chancellor no. Johnson no. Lechler yes but hard to see him going on the first ballot.

Fingers crossed for Mankins and Brown. Don't see Welker getting in unfortunately. Dillon is 50/50 for HOF I think

Yes for Joe Thomas & Darrelle Revis from the above list... No to all the others there.

And who's Brown...Troy Brown?

Rodney's the best DB on that list stop black balling him Canton!

Edit: Revis is but he was on a separate list for first ballot. And Chancellor and Rodney are pretty close both clearly belong in, I think you know who I'd take first.

So, going mainly on memory, these players played (or in the case of Reggie Wayne, practiced) with the Patriots:
Darrell Revis, Corey Dillon, Steven Jackson, Fred Taylor, Troy Brown (also PR/KR), Irving Fryar, Chad Johnson, *Reggie Wayne (did not make team), Wes Welker, Ben Coates, Logan Mankins (G), Brian Waters (G), Vince Wilfork (DT/NT), Chad Brown, Tedy Bruschi, Willie McGinest (also DE), Rodney Harrison (S), Asante Samuel (CB), Adrian Wilson (S), Jeff Feagles (P).

How the heck Rodney Harrison is not in there is beyond me.

Bowman and Willis were so fun to watch together but I don’t think Bowman has the resume to get in.

You'd think Rodney should get in now after Lynch. I know he doesn't have the best reputation but that's not a reason to keep him out.

It's a shame Chris Johnson isn't first ballot-worthy. He had the same level of "stop what you're doing, cuz here comes a CJ replay" to him the way LT had a few years prior. But I suppose LT had longer staying power.

Wide receiver group is stacked: Anquan Boldin, Troy Brown (also PR/KR), Donald Driver, Henry Ellard (also PR), Irving Fryar, *Devin Hester (also PR/KR), *Torry Holt, Joe Horn, Chad Johnson, *Andre Johnson, Derrick Mason, Muhsin Muhammad, Andre Rison, Jimmy Smith, Rod Smith, Steve Smith Sr., Hines Ward, *Reggie Wayne, Wes Welker, Roddy White.

A lot of that group is the hall of very good, but there are some darn good candidates there, who were big stars in their primes. Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Tory Holt, Wes Welker, among others.

I would immediately compare him to Terrell Davis for HoF comp because they each had a 2k rushing season.

Cons: TD won SBs CJ never did and TD had 3 years plus 1500 which CJ only surpassed in his 2k year.

Pros he was a better receiving back and played a few years longer.

I'd say he's borderline and lean toward no go.

IMO, CJ will get in. It will likely take a few years, but... Terrell Davis (also a very good / elite RB) was the beneficiary of the Shanahan / Kubiak / Elway trifecta. They maximized Davis as one of many weapons on those 97-'98 teams. CJ was really the only horse in Tennessee during his 2k season.

Besides Troy Brown of course :), I would consider Boldin, Hester & Steve Smith for advancement to the next round.

Holt, OchoStinko, Mason, Rison, Ward, Wayne & The Receiver are big-time **** NOs.

Smith has to be a HOFer. Ice up son!

Has to be reputation. Or his HGH suspension but that hasn't stopped the HoF before from inducting someone.
Reputation as a dirty player who had little consideration for the health of his opponent is the reason.
