Poyer is 32 and was a FA in 2022. He signed for 1 year at $6.25M guaranteed which is peanuts. The 2nd year is not guaranteed. Why did an All-Pro sign for peanuts? Because the other 31 teams didn't offer him anything. Why didn't the other teams want Poyer? Because he is half washed and will be out of the league next year or the year after. Don't believe me, believe the Bills management who only offered a 1 year guaranteed contract.

Both Poyer and Hyde have had great careers but their days are winding down. Next year is probably the last for both as their talent continues to slip.
Agree 100%. When Micah went down with the neck Injury.. similar to Cam chancellor. I remember Bills media people saying he may not return becuase that type of injury is career ending.

To be considered an all pro.. you have to be able to do it all. All of safeties are tasked with many assignments and they still make plays. Poyer is good not great.. however you said it best.

You don’t seem to understand the Free Safety market. Poyers $6.25M average per season (what you called peanuts) is top 10 in the entire NFL for free safeties.

Phillips average is only 4.25M, for example.

But yes, he is getting old. As happens to all great players.

Maybe in a year where both Hyde and Poyer are hurt.

But never anytime else.
I'll take Phillips any day.. Hyde and poyer are always hurt.. so that's every year..

The Bills window is barely open.

Didnt they get washed up Cole Beasley back? Old secondary's wont beat the Bengals or Chiefs.

The NE @ Buffalo game New Years Eve will determine the 2023 AFCE.

I believe Yahoo sports disagrees with your safety market.. see attachment.

Hyde and Poyer are solid NFL safeties.. however when teams are constantly taking deeps shots on your secondary you should be able to come away with INT'S.. the fact teams do that means they don't respect your secondary.

Half their INTs are from MJ 10.

Phillips is not a FS and is a nice piece, average at best. If Poyer is only $2M more than Phillips, that is an argument that Poyer is average. McCourty made $10M+ and had competing offers from other teams during his best years, and $9M a year at the end.

I debunked his argument. I put up the salaries of the top 10 highest paid safeties in the NFL.. ALL PRO poyer isn't even on the list.

Why make things up?

Last year was the first time in half a decade that Hyde or Poyer missed more than 1 game.

Bills secondary looks like their are playing football for the first time when defending competent offenses.

What's to make up?.. I said they are always hurt.. didn't say anything about wether they missed time or not.

The Bills D is getting older and slower as the Bills have had awful drafts like the Pats did prior to 2020. Now that Edmunds is gone, it will be interesting to see what the D looks like. Seems like the Bills are slipping.

Tre white isn't the same player he was prior to the ACL.. I know recovery takes time.. but he was getting beat by mediocre WRs last season. Without Edmonds at LB thier defense is weakened.

PFF for you. Dugger isn't even in the top 20. Some of these S rankings will make you shake your head. The other positional rankings are a doozy as well. These names ranked are not like years past that's for sure.

PFF’s comments about Dugger and their grades make no damn sense.

How much will Dugger command ? 12 - 14 million ?
