I don't know about everyone else, but I'm hoping it's Martin. I really admire what he stepped in and did for the team last season.
I think it will be a tough decision if all three play well in preseason. I think Dobson has most upside and is certainly most talented, however like you stated Martin did some good things for us last year. Washington better hurry his butt up and practice.

Washington is looking more and more like an early cut. Veteran brought in as insurance / camp body before anybody knew the rookies and Dobson would be lighting it up and looking legit. If it's at all close to even anybody but Washington offers more growth potential, he's too long in the tooth to be looking at much prospect for improving. Seems like a better choice to cut him and keep a youngster on the roster rather than keeping him and taking the risk of trying to slide another one of the kids onto PS.

I could be wrong but I've always felt that if everyone plays like they should and are healthy, Washington has a very, very small chance of making this team. Same goes for Dropson.

There may be a rook or two that clear waivers and are PS bound.

Jules
DA
Hogan
Mitchell
Martin

I think Martin is the clear choice if it's close. He's the one who can contribute on special teams, and he's under contract in 2017, unlike Dobson and Washington.

It's very early, but it sounds like Dobson is doing well enough that it may not be close right now, though. As everybody says, he needs to keep it up.

All this unexpected competition and talent is starting to make me think Dobson's most likely path to a roster spot would involve Dola or Jules ending up on PUP.

Wow, message sent loud and clear that's for sure. Let's hope it's received.

I'm sure it is. Belichick is pretty much saying that this is make or break for Dobson.

Agree. I might even take your interpretation on of Bill's remarks a step further. It sounds to me like he's saying Dobson needs to stay on the field because he's officially run out of chances to make the roster from the trainer's room.

But Rob, Dobson is oozing with upside.

Exactly. I don't know why anyone would think differently. He's the board's most polarizing player right now.

Such an enigma....

All we can do is see how he does in preseason and hope things shake themselves out. If he makes the team and puts up 40/500/4 TDs and a high YPC average I'll be happy.
I think those numbers are more than fair for a second round player who apparently possesses all this upside. What interesting to me is we're still talking upside in year four. At what point do fans concede that maybe it's just not there anymore?

I agree with that assessment. @Deus Irae feels the team has actually already moved on from him. I do not disagree.

Sounds like he needs to hook up with Brady's coack, or Jimmy G's, and live with them for the next twelve months.

If you removed 1 letter from this statement... lol

Someday I'll grow up and mature I suppose, but until then I'll giggle like a school girl with self amusement

Malcom Mitchell may be much better than regarded...the only other Rookie WR I heard having this much chemistry with Brady early on is Dion Branch many many many moons ago which bodes well for Mitchell. I think the Pats might have to explore some Trade Options with the likes of KeShawn Martin and even a Amendola yeah I said it.

Two points: Brady made an early and interesting connection with Kenbrell Thompkins when he and Dobson were rookies. When it happens, it's great.

Amendola is a lock in my estimation. He is the most versatile receiver on the team, and has an excellent connection to Brady. When Brady comes back, he's going to need Amendola, Gronk and Edelman on the field to jump right back in and move the team. Those three guys will be essential to a good offensive transition while the others get on the same page with Brady.

Well Aaron Dobson working with Brady/Grop and the First Team have me very optimistic. "IF' Aron can some how shake the injury Bug I would love to see what he can do. I heard he worked out alot with DeAndre Hopkins in the offseason any of Hopkins that rubs off on him have to be a good thing.

He very well may not have it. I don't think he does but you hate to give up on a young player who has been here for going on 4 years now. Clearly BB is hopeful he can contribute but there is no question he has put Dropson on notice.

To me, there is no denying that he has the ability and physical tools to play at this level and do some good things out on the football field. However, being prone to injuries to his feet, inconsistent and not playing special teams kills his value to the club. If hes not a playmaker then hes subject to being in the pressbox on gameday.

If the guy can haul in 2 catches and 30 yards a game as the 4th WR that'll put him at 36/480. I'd take that from a WR4 any day of the week. I think he is capable of it but for 3 years clearly has not done so for multiple reasons.

DA is more versatile than Jules?
