Two trades definitely worth looking into

If Mathis came for a 4th, I'd be ecstatic. I just don't see it happening. Then again, the compensation for Mankins wasn't anything to write home about, so maybe I'm wrong.

I totally agree about Stills, though.

Trades with the Iggles could also come at a small discount for us if its us vs another team. Never discredit HC relationships that extend beyond Football.

And this would move the Patriots from a middling offensive line to one of the best in the league immediately. Mathis is really good.

Mathis for 2015/2016, Marpet gets groomed during 2015 and takes over in 2016 for Connolly or Wendell leaving while 2016 grooms Mathis' replacement.

Wouldn't hate it.

Could then focus the draft on CB and DT.

The way Chip Kelly's working things, you might be able to get Mathis and a fourth for something like a 7th round pick.

Connolly is a UFA, Wendell has one year left. Our OL struggled to run block against everyone down the stretch except for the Colts and their pass protection had a lot to do with Brady releasing the ball faster than anyone in the league.

With how quick Brady was firing off passes you really only needed to prevent the defender from having a straight line to Brady, not actually block them.

Not to mention Brady's absolutely transcendent pocket presence down the stretch. Brady might be one of the best ever at moving around in the pocket, but late 2014 Brady made 2001-2013 Brady look like an amateur at it.
