2014 Offense is suddenly Awake

Was yesterdays Offense the beginning of a sleeping Giant? Ever since 2007 i don't think we had an explosive Offense as we witnessed yesterday.

Tommy threw to 10 different players. All of a sudden he doesn't have to look at Gronk all the time, or if u remember when Moss was with us he would throw to him even if he was doubled.

I loved yesterday because i am sure it was the beginning of something special. What a start for Tyms , Lafell was brilliant, Gronk was just Gronk, Edelman was himself cool and assuring. Dobson will contribute more, and Wright will cause Nightmares for a few Def. Cords.

All of a sudden the jigsaw ****le is nearly complete. I had my mouth open in sheer shock and joy to what i saw. The Bombs will come, and who says Tommy can't throw it deep?

The injuries ruined the W... but deep inside i can just hear those Head Coaches who we play soon saying 'damn those Patriots... they look too good, again!'

I am praying for our injured players, especially Mayo; but no time to relax, with a very short week coming up.

GO PATS.
Abdul

This is no 2007 offense, but yes, the passing game has awakened with the health of Gronk.
RECEIVERS
WR: Edelman, LaFell
slot: Amendola
RB: Vereen
TE: Gronk, Wright
backups: Tyms, Dobson, Hooman, White

A COUPLE OF POINTS
Edelman and LaFell are our starters.
LaFell is a downfield threat.
Dobson will compete with Tyms for reps and even for being active
Amendola will contribute some and will not be made inactive; Brady likes him in the slot.
White is an OK backup for Vereen as a receiving back, and a receiver if he starts (more than Ridley).

OPEN QUESTION
Will Belichick replace Amendola in his role as slot back? My guess is that he will not.

a breakout game for dobson would be 4-5 catches and a TD. hope tommy throws to him more often.
A breakout game would be without an offsides penalty.

I see Dobson as a candidate for the inactive list tonight.

2nd year wideout inactive for a third game. starting to look like a bust unfortunately.
If he is inactive it would be disappointing, but I would not call him a bust yet because he missed virtually the entire off-season due to injury. Tough to catch-up to the guys who were there. Then you have the Tyms surprise, who offers some of the same skills. As long as someone is ably manning the position, I don't really care who it is.

Bust? Not yet but he sure doesnt have a lot of wiggle room to flub up if he wants to be on this team in 2015.

Agreed but you need to hit on the 2nd rounders - not be all-pros but solid NFLers who are starters for most teams. IIRC, BB is hit-n-miss here.

2013-Collins- yes. Dobson-no.
2012-T Wilson. Nope
2011-Dowling -no Vereen- yes
2010-Gronk- yes, Cunningham- no. Spikes yes.
2009-Chung- no, Brace-no, Vollmer- yes, Butler- no
2008-Wheatley- no
2007- none
2006- Jackson-no
2005-none
2004-Hill- no
2003- geno wilson- yes, Bethel J. no
2002- Branch- yes
2001- Light- yes
2000- Klemm- no

20 picks. 8 yes 12 no. 40% hit for 2nd rounders is substandard.

yeah, its dissapointing, but Lafell has grabbed that position and has ran with it to good results.

last 3 games brady has 914 yards, 9 td's and 0 interceptions.
